Way north bass guy Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 Fishing at my parents place in Elliot Lake, Ontario this week. This is locally known as rooster rock. The second pic shows a 20’ boat at the base, makes it easier to really appreciate the height of it. We’re sitting in 350’ of water in these pics. 10 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 27, 2019 Global Moderator Posted August 27, 2019 Had a full weekend of just me and the boys. What else is there to do? My youngest, Finn, is closing in on 3 and I hadn't gotten him his first fish yet, so we went out and changed that. He didn't want to hold them yet, but he was having a good time cranking the gills and sunfish in one after the other. Big brother was holding his own just fine too. 15 Quote
Super User NHBull Posted August 27, 2019 Super User Posted August 27, 2019 The picture you share when you only get one fish... I bet he had better luck? 10 Quote
Way north bass guy Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 Tough day at the lake today, fished a 10 mile long system, and we were the only boat anywhere to be seen. View from the ramp. Running the “busy” main channel. Gotta love summers in the north ? 8 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 28, 2019 Global Moderator Posted August 28, 2019 Well it's taken a lot of work, but I hit a big milestone this weekend in a personal journey I've been on since this spring. I didn't realize how much I was getting up there until I see pictures from before I started until now. 235lbs, down to 185. I've witnessed several people around me with health issues recently, a lot of them weight related, or at the very least it's not helping the issue. I don't want to do that to my family and mostly my kids. They've been the main motivation that has kept me going when I wanted to give up. 17 1 Quote

Way north bass guy Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 It’s that time of year around our house, when the maters are ripening, and when you have the day off and it’s another 40mph wind blowing all day ?, so instead of bouncing in 4’ rollers on the lake, we make about 6 big batches of the finest slow roasted tomato sauce on the planet! And after 2-1/2 hours, it’s ready to blend up. ? 8 Quote

Way north bass guy Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 And to accompany all that fantastic tomato sauce, today we picked a bunch of crabapples for my mother-in-law to put down. 4 Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted September 3, 2019 Super User Posted September 3, 2019 It's college football season, finally. My grandson is an N. C. State fan like his Poppy. His mama(my step-daughter) is not a sports fan at all. She bought him a unc shirt(she liked the color) and made him wear it. He called me at work( he's 7) and complained about the ugly shirt he had to wear and his mama didn't understand that unc is State's ( remember, he's 7 lol) March enemy. I assured him I would take care of this after work. I went and bought him another State shirt and promptly went to his house. After offering $15.00 for that God awful shirt my step-daughter finally gave it up. I told big Nate I would pick him up Saturday and dispose of it in a proper fashion. We had fun! 1 7 Quote
