It took about 5 seconds to do and probably cost more than the other 4 combined. Did you get your dot tattoo for the same reason I got mine? 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 13, 2019 Super User Posted July 13, 2019 No. It was a prank by a friend that was a tattoo artist. Quote

Tim Kelly Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 So the river season opened here on the 16th June. I was away in Spain that first week, so it wasn't until last weekend that I finally managed to get the boat out on the river. The fishing last weekend was tough, though I did sneak out a two and a half pound perch somehow. It was the only bite from the perch or zander I was fishing for, of note. Other than a few small perch and tiny pike, it was a tough day, then I hooked something heavy. I've been fishing the Thames for over 20 years and a good chunk of that was spent fishing for pike. In all that time I never managed a twenty pounder, but all of a sudden I'm hooked into one on a medium spinning rod with a 12lb fluoro leader. Amazingly it stayed attached and I eventually scooped it into the net. As I scooped I suddenly heard applause, looked round and I had attracted an audience. Anyway, very pleased with the fish at twenty pounds and a few ounces. Fast forward to this weekend, and Sunday I'm on the river again by 5am, hoping that the slow fishing was just a bad day. By 6am I'm soaking wet and freezing. The weather men certainly said nothing about rain, and especially not two hours of it. Of course I have no coat. Upside I didn't need to work the rod as I was shivering so much it was doing all the work for me. By 9am the sun popped out for a bit and warmed my bones. Again, the fishing was tough. Small perch were coming, but they were taking some convincing that they were supposed to be easy to catch. I was skipping a tube under some overhanging trees, a spot I'd had some decent perch from in the past. Tick on the line and then a familiar unmovable force. This one was a little bigger at just shy of 23lb. Weirdness. Never had a twenty pounder from the river in all the time I've fished it, then two in a fortnight. 7 1 Quote

Tim Kelly Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 I think the dog's trying to eat it. P.S. The dog is a Rottweiler, just for a sense of perspective. ? 3 Quote

Super User jbsoonerfan Posted July 15, 2019 Super User Posted July 15, 2019 Got home late last night from the USSSA 10u Southern Nationals tournament. Ended up 5th out of 35 teams. Proud of them for making it that far. My oldest was selected as an MVP of one of their games so she has qualified to play in the Texas All State games in August. 9 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 16, 2019 Global Moderator Posted July 16, 2019 Man down! Boys were running around the back yard in the sprinkler and Lake dropped like he'd been hit by a sniper. I saw blood running down his heel as soon as I started towards him and he dripped blood all across the floor on the way to the bathroom. We got the bleeding stopped pretty fast and got the cut cleaned out pretty good but never did figure out what he stepped on. It's covered up pretty good with Neosporin in the picture, but it's a pretty good sized gash. He was up walking around not 5 minutes after I taped gauze to the bottom of his foot though. The best part of the whole thing was my poor, childless, single buddy was over for dinner because he were going night fishing afterwards. He got to experience the whole thing and while my wife and I were dealing with Lake, Finn decided to get completely naked and keep playing in the sprinkler. So next thing we know, a bare azzed 2 year old is streaking through the house soaking wet with 2 Golden Retrievers chasing him, dog toy in one hand and blue icy in the other. If he was ever thinking about having kids at some point, he's probably seriously reconsidering. 4 8 1 Quote

Russ E Posted July 17, 2019 Posted July 17, 2019 (edited) Trolling motor started getting noisy today. Thought a bearing was going out. Removing the prop exposed the problem. Cutting around 50 yards of 80 pound braid off of of a trolling motor shaft is a lot of fun. Kudos to whoever emptied their reel into Wyandotte county lake KS.. I can't think of a better place to dispose of line. This lake has trash cans all over. It amazes me, that people are too lazy to use them. Edited July 18, 2019 by Russ E Addition. 1 3 Quote
