As I begin my journey into those "Golden Years," I have found my level of risk taking go way down. However, fishing the big water on a kayak will always be on my bucket list. This video still is by Rob Valderrey.

There is a poem about the "Golden Years".  Google "the golden years poem".

I got the boat winterized Saturday and put her in the barn just in time. This is what we've gotten so far today.

Ended up with about 7 inches in 12 hours. Our first real snowfall of the year. Then to top off the day we just got power back on, only 45 minutes without. As you know at 22 degrees you don't want to go too long without.

The tricks of light and shadows.  What looks like a shoreline at the end of the cobblestone walk is really just an asphalt driveway.  The shadows and light produce the illusion of water.  It's something I just noticed as I was going through some photos.  What looks like the horizon in the distance is just where the camera's top of the exposure ended.

Different time of the year, but from the same perspective.

Hope this makes your day a little warmer.  Seven months until our gardens look like this.  The plants are Lucifer, Hydrangea, Cone Flowers, Day Lilies, and a couple of others that I cannot name.

I know I’m slow to the party, but I went out Sunday afternoon and slung an A-Rig for the first time. I think I’m gonna like it a lot.

I've got a couple in the perch pattern, the green is olive color.

Getting the truck serviced this morning and I thought I would start a "Go Fund Me" account.

I guess somebody wanted a late snack before they went to bed for the winter, I’ve never seen one around here still out and about this late in the year before, especially with the weather we’re getting.

The view coming in this evening from an afternoon of fishing was rather cool. The fact that the crappie were biting was a bonus.

Slightly damper day today out chasing the pheasants around. Little dog enjoyed it despite the weather.
