If you ever get out here, you can drive to within about 75 feet of the summit of Mt. Evans.  It's the highest paved road in North America, ending at about 14,130 above sea level.

If you do make it out for that, the Mt. Evans road is only open through the summer.  They try to open by Memorial Day, but sometimes the weather at 14,000 feet doesn't cooperate.  It usually closes again by mid September.

Here's another look at Mt. Evans from Guanella Pass on the west.  Mt. Bierstadt is in the upper right corner, then the Sawtooth connects to Mt. Evans proper across the center of the photo.  The drive over Guanella Pass is a nice one too.  Most any road you take in the mountains seems to have something to offer.

The open water looks fabulous ( ours is still under ice here), but the shoreline not so much.

It is! Just a late March storm for us. Got 5-6 inches and it was all gone in 2 days. Hope y’all are on the water sooner than later.

7 inches here since this morning and up to 2.5" more expected. Weird. Southern IN is 36-40 and rain, and north IN including as far N as Chicago and Detroit is 40 degrees. Only a thin band in the central part of the state is below freezing and getting snow. Sucks to be us right now...

Oooops.  I posted the above info here, thinking it would automatically merge with the prior post.  Tried to delete it but couldn't.   Sorry.
