Finally got to launch the boat again for just the second time this year. Lakes are finally starting to clear from all the rain, but cold weather still has water temps around 43 deg.

Another first this week, meeting and touching his first fish. Of course his hand went straight into his mouth right after he touched it :lol: Just like his big brother, seemed to be naturally interested in the fish, wanted to touch it without any coaxing to do so.

We are about the same.  Our smaller bodies of water might be a bit warmer, but I was out at Smithville Lake north of KC yesterday evening and lake water temps ranged from 43.5 to 44.5.  It has warmed up 3 to 4 degrees since I was there 10 days ago.  Coincidentally, that was my second time out with the big boat in 2018 as well.

This Rocky Mountain Goat was hanging out near the bottom of an "out and back" mountain trail as we came back down at Glacier National Park.  It didn't seem to care that we were only about 20 yards away.

This is a pic from an autumn morning hiking excursion that my wife and I took to Hawksbill Crag in the Upper Buffalo River Wilderness in 2017.

What a great photo.  Did someone take it for you or did you use a drone?

There was another couple that arrived just before we did.  We took a picture of them and they took a picture of us.  I have a couple of shots where it focuses in on me and my wife but this one gives the best view of the surrounding environment.

Pic for the day:  Momma and baby moose at Rocky Mountain National Park.

Obscured by clouds, this is a shot of Mt. Ranier in late July, 2011 when my wife and I hiked in Mt. Ranier National Park.

how much did that one cost you?

I haven’t respooled it yet. Lol, I’m just going to cut it off it’s worst in person than in the pic, but I don’t use super expensive line so about 10 bucks I like using cx premium. I went straight home after this I didn’t even bother.

@senile1  Did you ever get to Mt. Evans when you were in Colorado?  These are from about 40 years ago, the first one is 1979, the rest are from the 80's.

Where he's looking down is a couple thousand feet, almost vertical (he's standing at a bit over 14,000 feet).

There were several nannies with kids on the narrow rocky ridge that runs from the peak of Mt Evans across the Sawtooth to Mt. Bierstadt.

@RPreeb

Those are some beautiful pics!  I haven't been to Mt. Evans but it is on our list.  Typically, my hiking adventures include my wife and in just the last year she has now developed the confidence to hike more difficult climbs.  This summer we are going to Banff National Park in Alberta, CN.  I'm wanting to get back to Glacier National Park and Colorado in the next couple of years.

Man I wish I was younger. Caught the hiking bug too late in life to do some of the best climbing. Now I just take some of the easy trails locally.

If you ever get out here, you can drive to within about 75 feet of the summit of Mt. Evans.  It's the highest paved road in North America, ending at about 14,130 above sea level.
