Way north bass guy Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Went for a skate on the lake behind our place this morning. Windy, but darn near perfect conditions for a hockey game. 7 Quote

At least the come and go for you. They stay year round out here. I drove past a ranch pond a couple of weeks ago... it had a tiny area about 15'x 100' that was open and there were about 500 snow geese and another 200-300 Canada honkers gathered on the ice as close around that little lead as they could get. The only time we don't see them in large flocks of Canada geese is when they are nesting. Then they disperse all over the countryside to raise the young. 14 minutes ago, Way north bass guy said: Went for a skate on the lake behind our place this morning. Here east of the mountains, the ice went off the ponds and lakes during the last week and a half. 2 Quote
Way north bass guy Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 This lake still has 2’ of ice, no bass fishing for me so we’ll make the best of it. But I’d much rather be on the front deck of the boat. Quote

Super User senile1 Posted March 6, 2018 Super User Posted March 6, 2018 I glance at this thread occasionally but I never post in it. My wife and I occasionally take hiking trips in the Rockies, and the Appalachians as well, so I thought this might be a good place to post some nature scenes we have captured along the way. The pic below was one that was taken as we traveled to and from our lodging to Rocky Mountain National Park in 2015. This moose was one of many we captured hanging out in the Colorado River valley on the west side of the park. 11 Quote

A-Jay I might have to give it a try if there was any muskie anywhere close by. I might be able to get a big flathead to take a run at one though since they are known to have basketballs on their menu. 3 Quote
