I was running the snow blower yesterday at 6 am. It was a balmy -4. Actually broke a sweat.

Was reading through some old posts about a lake close to where I live and even closer to where I grew up and couldn't resist @Bluebasser86

This is a family forum, no reason to post that here.

I hope to. Honestly, I'd prefer normal temps for this time of year, helps keep the fair weather fishermen at home. Plus, those power plant lake fish just bite so much better when it's nasty out it seems.

We hit the single digits last night. I just looked at the ice scraper and shook my head. Pulled out a bottle of de-ice spray. Its the only thing that works for me at those low temps.

I never understood why some people would rather be right than be happy. I also don't understand why everyone believes their opinions matter. I blame much of it on technology and people not learning how to properly socialize along with the trophy kid mentality.

I've been guilty of it a time or ten.  I try to curb that.  Listening, validating, and fact checking helps.

On the road to Cabela's yesterday.  Yup, that's right, this is the first 5 miles on the best route to my nearest Cabela's in Sidney, Nebraska.  :)

Today's drive into town... took the scenic route and stopped for a photo from a bridge over the South Platte.  Lot's of ice floating in the river after yesterday's cold front and last night's 6° temps.

Nice image.  Very moving.  I spent an emotional couple of hours there about 15 years ago.

This one was taken the day of the eclipse while I was waiting for the action to begin:

Put the boat up for what is likely the end of the 2017 fishing season. This is the little corner of the boat where all the cut off baits that never made it back into their boxes ended piled up. A nice eclectic mix. Doesn't every boat end up having such a nook or cranny of similar leftover baits?  LOL

The first spot that I fished this year.  Looks nice, stuck on shore and never got a nibble, but I didn't know what I was doing (still don't) but I hope that I'm learning from hanging out here.  I plan to try it again next year after I get my canoe and see if I can cover some of those flooded willows from the outside.

Christmas present from mom and dad. Custom hand carved filet knife and sheath. My mothers comment was "I bought it for you because I know how much you like cleaning fish"   It's really too nice to even use.
