I like the pepper custom baits football jigs better than any. I stick with the basic colors, green pumpkin and watermelon for clear water, black blue for stained water, and also a brown/orange crayfish color when they are on a heavy craw bite.

I use revenge heads and tie my own skirts. Not only are they very productive but the wind up costing under $2 a piece. Which is a good  thing considering the rate I lose them.

BR sponsor Siebert Outdoors offers a wide variety of quality jig including an even Dozen different types of football jigs.

The quality & color selection is top shelf.

Makes it tough to pick a favorite but the Derocker G2 Football Jig is next generation football jig.  It incorporates a recessed eye for knot protection and angles on the bottom of the head.  For me the Black Green Pumpkin color is a fan favorite.

I just recently bought some BOSS heads and skirts from Dirty Jigs and BOSS and making my own color combos.  Ends up being cheaper per jig that way.

I really like the North Star Baits Black Football jigs, for colors I keep it simple, Black & Blue, PBJ and Black and Brown...

All the usual suspects are good : Strike King , Booyah , Pepper , Dirty Jigs , etc. However the newer "Grid Iron" series from Siebert Outdoors is my current favorite : Brown / Orange , Green Pumpkin / Watermeln Red , Black / Blue and Bream / Bluegill cover the range for me .

That deal might have ended but I'm sure you could show him a picture and get one tied up no problem.
