Where to target first?

I just recently fished this lake with no success and was wondering what area you guys would target first and with what bait if you were to fish this lake. (Relatively clear with trout stockings).

There should be a saddle between that point and island . I'd hit it from every angle  with crankbaits and texas rigs .

I would anchor down right on the shore, next to the main points cast out a huddleston and slow crawl it back.

The bottom between the two should be saddle shaped . Some of the best structure there is .

If you can provide a map that shows the depths of the lake that would be very helpful, because you can then find transition areas, deep water, shallow water etc.

I haven't fished Chabot and know of this lake because it produced a giant  19 lb+ bass in December 2016. The island with the connecting point jumps out as noted earlier. The spawning bay to the left of the island and the point looks better during pre/post spawn, start here!

The major point across from the dam, both ends will hold bass year around. 

Every cove may have spawners, I would check those out.

This is a lake stocked with Florida strain LMB over 25 years ago so you are targeting FLMB that are difficult to catch unless you use soft plastics, jigs and swimbaits.

Soft plastics;  Uptons Customs, 9" dragon tail Aaron's Tragic, black grape/blue neon vain, T-rigged w/1/4 oz painted bullet weight, 5/0 #5103 Owner worm hook, *12 to 14 Sniper FC.

Jigs; 1/2 oz spider jigs with GYCB Hula grubs, 221, 330.*

Swimbaits; Huddleston 68 and 8" ROF 12, rainbow trout. Deps 175 & 250, Rainbow trout, 25 lb Sunline Armillo Deifer.

Work the points, uphill.

Bed fish, there should be a few; drop shot GYCB Kreature in Pearl white/blue-silver flake, 2/0 Owner weedless wacky hook, nose hooked.*

That is what I would start at and with.

In California lakes with solid/rocky bottoms I find football head jigs with spider trailers  (yamamoto hula grub) work amazing. Aint like east coast where you cast to shore cover, gotta be comfortable fishing deep. Carolina rig and dropshot should also work well. Deep diving crankbait if you can locate ledges and active fish.

I like those main points, always a productive place for me... @WRB seems to have a good idea or two though. You definitely need to put more than one day into this place though, looks like a good fishery!
