Well I guess jigs for me too .. Only tried them like 3 times and caught nothing so after buying so many I should toss them more this year as well

Things to try: (there are a lot)

Never Used- Neko Rig, Jika Rig, Carolina Rig, Hollow Frog

Used without success- Jig (only gotten fish vertical jigging a bass jig), Drop Shot, Spinnerbait

This year I'm going to try spinnerbaits. I've never fished one so I think it's time.

Trying to add weightless fluke and the NED rig to my limited bag of tricks.

Maybe not any new methods but a new twist to current techniques. Got myself hooked up with 3 Whopper Ploppers. I feel pretty good about them, have never fished them before. I duplicated a handful of Rapalas that are my most productive color patterns and models to deeper running versions. Making it a point to get deeper in certain areas this season. Have gotten away from fishing jerkbaits some the last couple of seasons. Making it a point to Countdown and Husky Jerk fish more. Most of my worm fishing is done with finesse style and size worms. Made it a point to get some bigger 7" Power Worms and Texas rig some larger worms.

Big swimbaits and the carolina rig. I did jerkbaits last year and I have confidence in them after this spring.

This year for me would be shaky head (ball head jig), Ned rig and Jig. Also try to improve on others like Texas weighted rig, crank bait(lipless and jerkbait) / spinner bait / chatter bait.

I hardly touch my drop shot rig which I'm very confident and caught me a lot of fish last year.

I hadn't planned on learning spinnerbaits, but my boater taught me in my last tourney. So that was an unexpected lesson.

Things to still pick up are the ned and neko rigs.

This year Ima try to figure out how to skip jigs with a baitcaster and I might get into the whopper ploppers  I've heard there good but never used one, we'll see lol ;)

For me it's using drop-shots and getting my jigs to skip a little farther.

@cgolf you've never fished a fluke or senko weightless ??? That's the only way I fish those lol..

Tried once and hooked a snapping turtle and that was it. I have only fished swim senkos on a slider head. Generally I don't have the patience, would search for active fish instead.

They will definitely catch active bass ! Tx weightless and you can rip it like a soft jerkbait ! Then it gets scooped on the way down !!

Now that I have the boat it's time to start getting those offshore summer bass. Time to learn football jigs and deep divers.

I have no luck with a swimjig or spinnerbait i want to learn them & how to skip a jig with a baitcaster. Could you learn to skip a jig with a spinning reel & use that on a baitcaster. I hate a spinning reel.

For me it's the Neko rig and other nail weighted rigs like a chicken rig? I also plain to unleash some of my Rage Tail purchases from the winter.

Any luck with the Neko Rig yet? I started fishing it this season as well and have caught a few. I'm still figuring out the exact setup as far as baits and weights etc to use. As of now I am using a Berkley Havoc Flat Dawg, a VMC 1/16 oz Neko Weight and a VMC Neko Hook (size #1). I honestly have not used it often yet but have caught a few bass on it. I start out with a Ned Rig and that typically draws a lot of strikes; if that slows down then I start throwing a Neko Rig.

Mostly bath tub tested.  I hooked one bass from shore last summer when I was first learning.  I bought the Neko weights but I think the nails/screws would be easier.  For baits I was using a Reins Bubbling shaker in either the 5" or 7", Reins swamp mover, Yamamoto Kut tail worm.  It looks like a promising technique, I'm just having a hard time setting the drop shot rod down.
