njbassin126 Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 I attend school in Baltimore and I plan on fishing frequently come summer. I am not from the area and I have struggled to find any lakes or ponds that are suitable for bass fishing (besides Loch Raven). Does anyone have any suggestions of good bodies of water nearby? I am looking for waters with a lot of bank fishing access since I do not have a boat or kayak here. ANY advice would be appreciated. Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted May 2, 2017 Super User Posted May 2, 2017 Check out the Papataso Valleyly Stream Park. Lots of good spots to access the river and there are some decent smallies in there. Piney Run is supposed to be decent, but I have only seen a little bit of is so I am not sure how the shore access is. There are a couple of small lakes in Columbia, which isn't too far from Bmore. Super User fishnkamp Posted May 5, 2017 Super User Posted May 5, 2017 There is a nice thing about Piney Run Reservoir ( in Carroll County) and Centennial Lake (in Howard County) both rent boats so it is possible to get off shore. I could not find the rental info for Piney Run, a simple call may help with that. Centennial Lake advertises $10 per hour to rent a kayak, a canoe,or row boat. There are other areas to do this as well. There are other ideas. There is a company on the eastern shore called http://cdollaroutdoors.com/. Chris is located above the 301/50 split and rents fishing kayaks. He is a kayak guide as well. It might be fun to rent one and go explore some eastern shore ponds or rivers. Quote
