Trench_Panda Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Hey Guys. I've looked high and low in my area and online for any type of smallmouth tournaments in Minnesota and I can't seem to find any. So my question: Does anyone know of any Mississippi River Tournaments or "Tours" in MN or River tournaments that are Smallmouth specific? Thanks guys Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted April 27, 2017 Super User Posted April 27, 2017 Back in the late 80's and early 90's there was a Mississippi river smallmouth specific event based out of Anoka. I have not seen any since then that catered strictly to the river rats and smallmouth. It was the only bass tournament I ever fished that did allow live bait and didn't allow largemouth at all. I always chose to stick to artificial lures and always got my butt handed to me by the rats soaking minnows. Quote
Super User gim Posted May 1, 2017 Super User Posted May 1, 2017 I was going to mention that one in Anoka near the Rum/Mississippi river confluence. I never fished in it but I saw them weigh in once. I don't think they've had it in a number of years now. Quote
Trench_Panda Posted June 6, 2017 Author Posted June 6, 2017 Yeah they had one last year in Champlin and of course that conflicts with Game Fair so I can't go again this year. Quote
Trench_Panda Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 Well. I got a chance to try the Skeeter Boat Center Open Bass tournament in Champlin. My brother and I got 4th with 14 lbs! Not bad for our first tournament. We only missed 2nd place by a half pound. Winner had just over 17 lbs with Big Bass honors @ 4.74 lbs. 1 Quote

What are the boundaries for this event? Where was blast off? Quote
Trench_Panda Posted October 3, 2017 Author Posted October 3, 2017 The Boundary line was in Dayton where the Crow River enters the Mississippi. Take off was in Champlin at the Landing. Quote
