ColonelVega Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Hi, I'm new to fishing. Am trying out these Stick-O worms I got at Bass Pro Shop. Seen a few you tube videos on how to rig. The Texas Style seems to look realistic but I fail to see how the hook is going to snag the fish if it's buried in the plastic worm. Will someone please enlighten me? Quote
HeavyTwenty Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Its soft, thin plastic. A medium or medium-heavy fast action rod with a strong hookset will tear through the plastic. The only time it has failed for me is when I set the hook into a really tiny bass (6-8 inches). Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Welcome to Bass Resource Colonel!! Here is a link to a Bass Resource video that explains how to Texas-rig a soft plastic bait (like a BPS Stik-O). https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/texas-rig-bait.html Quote

Super User Darren. Posted April 25, 2017 Super User Posted April 25, 2017 Welcome aboard! It'll work Texas rigged, even better wacky rigged Quote
Bucky205 Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 It will tear through when you set the hook. I use the T-stops to peg the weight, the advantage is that it completely covers the hook point and makes it much harder to snag. You can throw it into very heavy cover without snagging. LOL, even when I cast into a tree or across a dock I can usually get my worm back. Quote
