The place I work went chapter 11. I've just heard we may not make it. I'll know in a couple of weeks.

Upon hearing this my first thought was " all the free time I'll have for fishing!"

That's kind of sad and funny at the same time.

Well, you know you are a bass fisherman when you quit your job when fishing season begins.

Good luck.

Get that resume ready to roll.

I know the feeling. I worked for a telecom in Rochester, NY

in the 90's that was bought by a very flamboyant and not

too great of an owner...who ran the company out of money.

I took a RIF as did my entire management line (I was an

IT manager)...tough, wasn't really fishing much then...

But these things happen.

Good luck finding a new job, and enjoy what fishing time you

can get with it!! :)

Thanks for all the kind remarks and thoughts.

Should the worst happen we are crunching numbers to see if there is any possible way I can retire. I am soon to be 63 and I'm not sure I have it in me to start over.

On the plus side, should the worst happen I'll get to bore all of you with my daily fishing reports. LOL

Last year My wife and I found a gem of a pond. Hit a new PB of 7lb 1oz LM, and saw a bigger one ( it actually chased a 2lb SM I had hooked around the boat)

We have been so looking forward to getting back there and giving it the attention it deserves. Maybe I should be more careful what I wish for.

                                                    Thanks again

Good luck buddy.  I know this must put a awful strain on everyone involved.  I hope it all works out for you and the family.

been thru your situation a couple of times. once when a ball bearing factory went to japan,  and once when the rail road cut the cabooses off trains. there is work available to all that really want to. best of luck finding your next adventure ,hate to here an honest working man loosing a job. hang in there, the good thing about fishing is the personal time to think.

32 years in with the Federal Government and I'm about to lay myself off.  I've had my fill and it's time for 24/7/365 fishing.  :P
