Best Sunglasses around $100

I'm looking to purchase some quality polarized sunglasses, I fish mostly clear to lightly stained water. How does lense color play into the picture? Thanks for any tips and advice. I want them to be able to double as just everyday sunglasses as well so I know they are good polarized sunglasses for cheap at walmart but they aren't quite my style, lol.

Lens color has more to do with light transmittance than anything but can have some affect on contrast as well. Its hard to get one color to be perfect for all conditions as one color will enhance vision on cloudy days but be not enough on sunny days. I'm sure you can find one that would be acceptable in all.

And I don't work for Oakley, I just have some of their products and used these charts as guides when I bought. I went with the Oakley Twenty in Fire Iridium. But the color guides will be the same for all brands.

I mentioned it in another sunglasses thread...check out 6pm.com.  I got 2 pairs of really nice polarized Spys for around $35-$40 a piece.  These were $150 glasses.  They're really nice.  Well, the pair that's not at the bottom of Lake Ontario.

I HIGHLY recommend the Eye Surrender ESE sunglasses with the Amber lense. Amber lense is the best if you only can get one set, because they are great in certain conditions but also are not bad in any conditions, making them pretty good all around. They are $60 but peform like $250 sunglasses.

Authentic Costa Del Mar 580 from eBay go for about $125-150. It's the best deal around. I've had a half dozen pair of cheaper ones, but these are the way to go if you're not one to sit on your glasses or drop them in the lake.

 

You'll want to go with green or silver mirror on amber lenses for general freshwater fishing. That's the consensus. I have both silver and green and can't tell the difference.
