Where do bass go in all 4 seasons of the year?

I have been looking for months and have picked up some info about where bass go  and what they do in the spring, summer, fall, winter, but I was wondering if someone could show me some links were I can find more info about this. Also if someone wants to summerize were the bass go and what they do in each season that would be awesome to. Thanks

There's so many variables to that question, it's almost impossible to answer. Locations, body of water, types of bass, types of forage, cover/structure available, weather patterns, the list goes on and on.

 

I can give examples from our lakes in NE KS that are generally stained and shallow.

 

Winter-deeper portions of the lake near sharp dropoffs, often close to where they were last found in the fall.

Spring-anywhere in the lake but generally less than 10' deep

Summer-same as spring time but will hold in deeper water during extended high temps.

Fall-same as spring but will start to move to areas near where they will winter when temps start to drop near 50. 

 

I know that's very general, but it's a start.

All I know for sure, and I'm not even sure how sure I am about this,  is a smallmouth bass will move or migrate quite a distance, I've heard miles even... where as a largemouth will spend most of its life in a fairly general area. Maybe not always the same piece of cover obviously, but more like within acres as opposed to square miles.

Bass do  have seasonal patterns but I know a spot that produces  almost every time I fish it , no matter whet the season .

what about in ponds. its crazy! i fish ponds in winter and you'll think they are all dead cuz the fishin is horrible

I consider a pond environment like a "spot" on a larger lake.  Part of my strategy with fishing small ponds from shore is to have a milk run of sorts.  Meaning I'll plan to hit more than one, and at different times of day.  I'll even throw in some shore spots on bigger waters as well.  Timing is key, and it's not really easy to predict.
