Ailin Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Hey, there's a small leak in my boat that is similar to a pond prowler. It fills the hull up with water, with the amount of water that drained out, I came with an estimate of about 3 quarts of water an hour when it's in the water. Any idea where it might have come from and how to fix it? I have two drain plugs that sit below the water, the plugs don't exactly fit tight with the hole though, do you think it is because of the drain plug? Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted April 19, 2017 Super User Posted April 19, 2017 There's one way to tell. The next time you have water in the hull, drag it onto dry land and see where the water leaks out. 2 Quote
Super User Master Bait'r Posted April 20, 2017 Super User Posted April 20, 2017 There are a ton of ways to fix it. You could epoxy patch it, you could fill the inside with closed cell foam, you could ptex it you could plastic weld it.... Depends on how much you want to spend and how much time you want to invest as well as access to materials and skills etc. if if it's a drain plug you could just find the offending plug and epoxy it closed forever if there's alternative means of draining it. I would just try getting drain pugs that fit tight and then go from there. Quote
Sokyfishing Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 I would plastic weld it. If it's made of polyethylene, epoxy will not adhere to it. You can find videos showing how to plastic weld and sources for equipment and material on Google. It's not that costly. Quote
