I've always used Norman Speed Clips but just started to try out the Decoy V-Snaps and so far I really like them. Other quick snaps that you might want to look at are the Decoy Egg Snaps and the Gamakatsu G-Finesse Tournament Snaps. Quote

Now, being able to change baits quickly without having to cut and retie may look like a very attractive reason however you still have to cut and retie every now and then. 1 Quote

Just my method, it's fishing everyone can do things their own way. It's all about confidence, I don't think the snap scares fish I mean the two or three giant trebles don't seem to make them shy so... Quote

Mike The trick I found with Norman's is to work them on sideways, no squeezing necessary. Then basically the same thing to work them off. Since I am not a "one-method" Pete, I swap out cranks or jerkbaits quite frequently. These old fingers and eyes just cannot do the re-tie every 10 minutes, so I rely on plain snaps. I would never use a snap swivel however - way too much hardware to interfere with lure actions. If you need a swivel, place it about 18" - 20" above the lure, on your leader. I do not care much for the standard snaps, that have a reverse hook to close the snap. They tend to gather debris in the water too easily. Tried the Normans and they are OK.....again, old fingers are tough to get these to work very easily. A new style I'm testing out this season are the Spro Split Snaps. They don't have the reverse hook to close the snap and their profile is smooth as well. I'm a big fan of the Spro lineup of terminal tackle. Very durable and reliable. So, I have high hopes! 2 Quote
