My partner and I fish bass tournaments solely in southeastern Wisconsin.  We do very well, but are constantly looking to improve our knowledge and versatility.  We've found that sharing ideas with other people around the US and Canada is a great way to bring new techniques to our home waters.

I am looking to start a dialogue with other successful tournament anglers from around the country.  We've spent a lot of time working on new techniques that have been successful here and would be willing to share our "secret baits" with others who don't fish tournaments in our area.  In exchange, we're hoping to uncover some new stuff for around here.

Let me know if you're interested in talking.  The only qualification is that you are not fishing any tournaments in Wisconsin or have any intention to.

Although I am sorely tempted to make a pithy remark, I will give you the benefit of the doubt.  I will say, though, that I will be very surprised if any of your "secrets" have not already been revealed somewhere on this site.  You might review the articles and posts on here before you claim something is TOP SECRET if you want to avoid embarrassment.  Welcome aboard

Ceph, I dont have your strength.....  ;)

Umm, this is a forum. The "dialogue" you are looking to "start" occurs here on an everyday basis. Everyone here has spent time working on their "secrets" that usually are known or will get passed around through the community anyways. Look around, read up, welcome aboard.

Let us know if you see Craig Baugher or Jersey Riggs  (j/k)   ;)

I understand that this is a forum.  To me, the value of a forum is two-fold.  One, it creates a venue for the free exchange of ideas.  Two, it allows people to connect with others with like interests all around the world.

I agree that there are a bunch of great ideas out there on this forum.  But at the same time, I'm sure there are certain things that go unshared because of the fear of other competitive anglers getting the information.

Please don't take offense that I am looking for a more private conversation.  I am not looking to undermine the forum or take advantage of it.  I am simply looking for people of the same mindset who are looking to improve their game and willing to share stuff that they might not on the forum.  I think that's fair game.

Well, here we don 't have "secrets", you ain 't gonna find any thread revealing a "secret" bait or rigging or technique; baits, rigs, techniques are freely discussed and many "secrets" are revealed when the discussions take place.

As for "new" techniques, they may be new to you, not necessarily new to many specially old farts that have been in the sport for a long time, drophsot ? we used to call that rig "hook above sinker", shakey head ? yup, we also new about that one too, rigging baits T-style on a jighead is not exactly new, the only thing "new" are the jigheads with a longer hook and a gizmo to attatch the bait.

The only "secret" you need to know is: bass are bass here and in China, they behave the same way everywhere, what catches them here catches them in China; baits are universal, it 's the guy behind the rod handle what counts, catching fish is done with you have between your ears.

Secrets.  I dont believe in secret baits just have confidence in a certain bait style.  Now Location is a different story.  I've fished peoples secret baits in lakes.  Yeah it dont work for me.  Now secret locations, not really secret but still I do like good locations.  I dont fish WI, never been there that I can remember.  But share away.  I will try and adapt any technique to my fishing style.

Don't be paranoid about sharing thinking that all of us are going to pack our bags and head to WI...I don't believe in secret baits per se...its all a confidence thing.  i have confidence in texas rigged watermelon colored plastics, but another member may hate them and he/she kills them with spinnerbaits or cranks...besides, no one lure works the same everyday, any knowledgeable bass fisherman knows that so don't be afraid to share and you'll realize that you'll learn many things as well. Welcome aboard

Hey Roadwarrier, I saw a Hank Parker fishing show yesterday where he was night fishing on Diamond Lake in Calif.  Hank interviewed some guy from Calif. that only fishes for large bass.  I think he said he has 45 over 15 Pounds!  That's not bad for a Cali guy.... ;) ;)

I don't believe in telling what baits or locations to fish them. I don't even believe in telling people I am on a particular lake for fear that they will follow me and watch with binoculars. I am even secretive about my secrets.

I have learned through years of pro fishing the secrets of the pros, but I ain't telling, cause it's a secret. By the way: I hope that the code works for this message as I don't want it to get around.

Ah what the heck. The following is the secret of all the top level pros:
