NickMurray Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I just picked up a JDM Daiwa Tatula and I put 60 pound braid on it, it said it can fit 115 yards of 14 pound mono so I put the 60 pound (the equivalent) and realized there was only about 40 yards on my reel and I almost spooled myself! What should I do to make sure I have enough line on P.S I was using Black Fitzgerald Braid Quote
TH-Outdoors Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I have two Tatula CT and one with braid on it, I have 15lb mono backing and then about 3-4 casts length worth of braid on it, I've never even seen it get close to the mono backing. I'm not much help to your question but I'm curious to see the answers. I'm running 50lb braid Quote

CTBassin860 Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 According to the page it only fits 100 yards of 12# But should still get 80-85 yds of 14 1 Quote
TH-Outdoors Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I wouldn't necessarily call it a braid leader, but putting on some mono before the braid and tying a connector knot will keep the braid from slipping on the spool as well as saving you some money by not using a ton of braid. 1 Quote
papajoe222 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 What's the diameter of the braid you're using? Some braids can be .40mm+ and some as little as .17. Check the package and I'd bet yours is a thicker line and you likely didn't spool it very tight. Quote
