I took my Helix 5 G2 Chirp DI Gps out for the first time today.  The sonar worked just fine but I could not get the down imaging to work.  Am I missing something?  Do I need to do anything setup wise or should it be good to go with no setup?

Just choose one of the DI views and it's there. You may have to choose a DI color that you can see the best according to the ambient light.

Additionally have you registered it on the Humminbird website and checked for a software update?

It may be an update issue.  Its not a matter of not being able to see it but nothing shows or scrolls across the screen for the down imaging views.

Do I need a card to do any software updates?

Yes, the unit has a single microSD card reader.-- any size 32 GB or less.

Check the software version in the SYSTEM STATUS view and see if there is a higher version number in your account.

If so download that to the card and fully start the unit up in Norman or Simulator, do a RESTORE DEFAULTS then put the card in and tell it to load--- two messages--first answer YES, second answer NO.

Then WAIT until it updates and restarts. Remove the card and do another RESTORE DEFAULTS. That's it.

Thank you for the info I really appreciate it.  I just updated to the newest software.  I'm still not sure that the down imaging is going to show on the depth finder.
