Tyler Schmidt Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Planning a trip to the Sebring area to fish, which lakes would be considered best for fishing offshore? I've already been to Poga; I am tired of fishing in less than 6ft of water all the time and would like get out on to some deeper water. Looking at the navionics web app it seems Lake Jackson, Lake June, Lake Letta, Lotela Lake, Lake Huntley, and Crooked Lake have the best contour lines. I don't want to waste a day graphing and fishing an unproductive lake, any advice would be appreciated. Quote
Super User geo g Posted April 15, 2017 Super User Posted April 15, 2017 Don't overlook Little Red Beach just a mile south of Sebring. I have fished it several times and always caught some decent fish. I had a friend with a small house on the lake. Small lake but seldom fished, especially on the south east side. Just south of the ramps there are close contour lines, good crankbait area. 16 feet deep toward the middle. Just another lake among the ones you named. Ramp is good as long as the water is not too low. Go to Florida Lakewatch for all the contour maps of major Florida Lakes. Go to Bathymetric Maps, it is a great site for fishing florida. Lake June has some deep holes. Big bass sometimes hang on the edge of these deep holes. 1 Quote
