Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 15, 2017 Global Moderator Posted April 15, 2017 Just got a mold to make some tiny bass jigs, down to 1/8oz. I have some 2" power craws and 2.5" BatwingZ, what other trailers are everyone using on super finesse jigs like that? 1 Quote
Logan S Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Tiny Paca Chunks and the SK Bitsy Bug craw trailers are what I've used for those small jigs. I've also used a 3" stik-o/senko, which looks/works better than you might think on a tiny jig . 4 Quote
Super User Munkin Posted April 15, 2017 Super User Posted April 15, 2017 Interested in what everyone is using as well. Allen Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted April 15, 2017 Super User Posted April 15, 2017 I use a custom pour plastic trailer similar in size to the old 101 spin frogs (pork). About 1.5" x 5/8" in size. Closest production pour I've seen is the ISG Bambino Finesse Chunk. 1 Quote
Will Wetline Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Last year the expensive Strike King Denny Bauer ElazTech bitsy chunk (2") proved its worth on the back of an 1/8 oz. bucktail jig. Being ElazTech, it'll hang on that hook until I break off the jig. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strike_King_3X_ElazTech_Denny_Brauer_Chunk/descpage-SXDC.html http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/zz277/shadsmalliesteel/Light%20Gear%20For%20Heavy%20Quabbin%20Smallies%20%20May%2012%202016/ff317e8b-e1ec-4ba9-b19c-be61399a3eaa_zpsidsiaque.jpg Quote
jr231 Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Rage chunk is my favorite in the summer. I also will use a 3" kalins grub Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted April 15, 2017 Super User Posted April 15, 2017 Half a Zlinker, or one of the Zman leeches. I am also going to give the Producto Tournament Grub a try this year; 1 Quote
Super User RoLo Posted April 15, 2017 Super User Posted April 15, 2017 A couple of finesse trailers I like: Fish-shaped: Zoom 4" Fluke Jr. - aurora black Craw-shaped: Netbait 3" Paca Chunk - black shadow Roger Quote
Super User Munkin Posted April 16, 2017 Super User Posted April 16, 2017 I wish they made this in one size smaller. Right now I am pouring a trailer the size of a Zoom tiny chunk but would like one shapedlike the super chunk. Allen 1 Quote

Doesn't do much, but the fish love it. These are the jigs I'm tying that I'm looking for the trailer for. It's a 1/0 hook and 1/8oz head, very tiny jig. http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n500/bluebasser86/20170415_193014_zpssghzw5wo.jpg On 4/15/2017 at 9:33 AM, Will Wetline said: Last year the expensive Strike King Denny Bauer ElazTech bitsy chunk (2") proved its worth on the back of an 1/8 oz. bucktail jig. I might get out some scissors and do some trimming. Necessity is the mother of invention right? http://i1136.photobucket.com/albums/n500/bluebasser86/20170415_193235_zpsa4mylqyv.jpg 3 Quote

If you don't think so, send it to me and I'll post another pic of it in the roof of a smallie's mouth. 2 Quote
chattooga_ basser Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I like a Gambler BB cricket for small jigs like that. Quote
Megastink Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 First and foremost, the BEST TRAILER EVER for tiny jigs is a baby Rage Craw. Period. Other options include Strike King 3x Tiny DB Chunk, 3" Rodent, 3" Twin Tail Grub. 2 Quote
JigMaster4 Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Tiny paca chunk, kickin b chunk or 3inch beaver! Quote

I'm still looking for a more craw profile, but so far the best thing I've found that is as small as I'm looking for is a Southern Pro Crappie Craw at 1.5" long, but of course it's mostly bright colors for crappie fishing. 1 Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted April 16, 2017 Super User Posted April 16, 2017 Rage Tail Menace. Just cut off part of the body to fit. 2 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted April 16, 2017 Super User Posted April 16, 2017 I cut Yum Sharpshooters, Warning shots and Kill Shots in half using the back half as trailers. Yum baits are cheap and come in big quantity packs so it's not a waste to me to get creative with them 1 Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted April 16, 2017 Super User Posted April 16, 2017 When I am throwing a small jig, like the 1/16th and 1/8th oz. Bitsy Jigs the small Big Bite baits craw worm gets the call for trailer duty. Quote

Super User Munkin Posted April 16, 2017 Super User Posted April 16, 2017 Look into the Yamamoto baby craw , just cut it to the desired length. Allen Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted April 16, 2017 Super User Posted April 16, 2017 Hmm... a true finesse jig...something I don't have many of. May have to get me some of this smallmouth candy! Looks good Blue 1 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted April 16, 2017 Super User Posted April 16, 2017 Ideally, you want a trailer created specifically for the size jig you are using without trimming off or cutting. Easy to get the right length, but not the right proportions relative to the jig when trimming larger baits. They'll work, but usually not as well. 1 Quote

Super User Catt Posted April 16, 2017 Super User Posted April 16, 2017 Not that tiny but love the color Quote
