Tiny trailers

Just got a mold to make some tiny bass jigs, down to 1/8oz. I have some 2" power craws and 2.5" BatwingZ, what other trailers are everyone using on super finesse jigs like that?

Tiny Paca Chunks and the SK Bitsy Bug craw trailers are what I've used for those small jigs.  I've also used a 3" stik-o/senko, which looks/works better than you might think on a tiny jig .

I use a custom pour plastic trailer similar in size to the old 101 spin frogs (pork). About 1.5" x 5/8" in size. Closest production pour I've seen is the ISG Bambino Finesse Chunk.

Last year the expensive Strike King Denny Bauer ElazTech bitsy chunk (2") proved its worth on the back of an 1/8 oz. bucktail jig. Being ElazTech, it'll hang on that hook until I break off the jig.

Rage chunk is my favorite in the summer. I also will use a 3" kalins grub

A couple of finesse trailers I like:

Fish-shaped:    Zoom 4" Fluke Jr. - aurora black

Craw-shaped:   Netbait 3" Paca Chunk - black shadow

I wish they made this in one size smaller.  Right now I am pouring a trailer the size of a Zoom tiny chunk but would like one shapedlike the super chunk.

I've used 2/3 of a 5" stick worm for a finesse jig trailer lots of times and it is a great trailer. Doesn't do much, but the fish love it.

 

These are the jigs I'm tying that I'm looking for the trailer for. It's a 1/0 hook and 1/8oz head, very tiny jig.

I have a bunch of these, but even the Bitsy size is almost too large. I might get out some scissors and do some trimming. Necessity is the mother of invention right?

First and foremost, the BEST TRAILER EVER for tiny jigs is a baby Rage Craw. Period. Other options include Strike King 3x Tiny DB Chunk, 3" Rodent, 3" Twin Tail Grub.

I think that ISG chunk might be what I'm looking for. I'm still looking for a more craw profile, but so far the best thing I've found that is as small as I'm looking for is a Southern Pro Crappie Craw at 1.5" long, but of course it's mostly bright colors for crappie fishing.

I cut Yum Sharpshooters, Warning shots and Kill Shots in half using the back half as trailers.

 

Yum baits are cheap and come in big quantity packs so it's not a waste to me to get creative with them

When I am throwing a small jig, like the 1/16th and 1/8th oz. Bitsy Jigs the small Big Bite baits craw worm gets the call for trailer duty.

Look into the Yamamoto baby craw , just cut it to the desired length.

Hmm... a true finesse jig...something I don't have many of. May have to get me some of this smallmouth candy!

Ideally, you want a trailer created specifically for the size jig you are using without trimming off or cutting. Easy to get the right length, but not the right proportions relative to the jig when trimming larger baits. They'll work, but usually not as well.
