Fished for 4 hour with my son this evening and caught 14 bass. Biggest was 2.9 although I did hang a 4 + on a 12" jelly worm and it got of because I played with her too much letting her jump. We call it Bill Dancing a bass. Made my son laugh. I didn't. Had fun.

you said truth or lie so here goes,

i once hooked a world record size bass on a banjo minnow.

ok now for the real other real stuff ;)

story of my pb, (sorry if this is a wall of text) i was fishing with my father and granddad when i was 12, we went back to the pond behind my house, we were planning to just bluegill fish and get some to eat, but i decided to take my bass rod, which at the time was one of those old cheap "rhino indestructable rod" with a zebco 733 spooled with some 20lb mono, cant remember the brand but it was a red line. was a just in case, man im glad i did.

i remember distinctly, when i got in the truck, he said the cows were lying down and it would be a bad day.

we started on the dock at that pond, which had so many bluegill that occasionally one would bite a bare hook.

started out good, but slowed down after a few hours, my dad started to clean the fish we had caught, and i picked up the bass rod, first cast i stuck a 2 1/2 or 3lber, surprising, since the dam on the pond had broke just a couple of years prior leaving fish in puddles of water with the exception of a few deep holes.

about 15 minutes passed, i went back to the dock, and just casted around, when i felt something, a lay down, i knew there would probably be a fish there, so i spent a few minutes working it, then it happened, THUMP_REEL_WHACK

i thought for a few short second that i had a catfish, i started pulling then it came up to the surface and tried to jump (to big to get airborne though), and i could see what it was, i yelled its a big one and my granddad started scrambling to get his bream busters in quick as he could, there was no was to get the fish on the dock since we had no net, i had to walk to the edge of the dock and climb down to where i could grab the fish, which, surprisingly, did not fight very hard, after that first jump it kind of just rolled over and let me have it,

i don't know which of us was more excited.

we put her on the scale, and let her go. no one else has caught her since, or caught any double digit for that matter.

he passed a few months ago, ill always have that memory of how excited he was when i held up that fish, which very well, could be my permanent PB.

and to think, i almost didn't bring my bass rod
