It's an old Bomber A model, the smallest one had that shallow running lip.

As soon as I saw those eyes I instantly thought Bomber. Looks like an old Model A.

Exactly.

I love my Bomber crankbaits, especially the square A

I am going with it being a Bandit 100 which has those little creases in the front on both sides, never seen a bomber that has them. Never seen the color before though. I also thought the bomber square a was a fatter and shorter bait?

It is definitely a Bomber, I'd say  it is a 5A but it has a square bill but doesn't have the shape of a Square A.

thanks ill look for it.   i never see many bombers in stores

@pocafx  One of the most reliably available lures at Walmart stores all across the US and Canada.  If you can't find Bomber square A's, 4A's and other Bombers at a Walmart, it is a store that probably doesn't carry fishing gear, and that is a rare Walmart indeed.

When in doubt, check online or the Walmart app. before going.  You can always order online and pick up to be sure.  Stores that carry Pradco hardbait boxes often have Bombers and sometimes craw-colored Bombers in there.

All the wal marts around me stopped carrying the square As much to my disappointment.  Square As are hard to find locally around here.  Have to order online.

Best place I've found for Bomber square As is also Walmart, but haven't looked in a while. They were good about marking em down to a couple bucks fairly regularly.

Bass Pro carries them too.

What do you think it is then, definitely not a square A, posted a link to the bait on Bombers site, bill is wrong. That looks the same as all the Bandit 100s I have except for the paint job.

That has to be a Bandit

Sorry for the misinformation.  I stand corrected.  Yes they have been marked down in north GA recently in some stores as noted by WDP.

The Bomber Fat 5A has square bill, the Bomber 5A has a rounded bill.

Another vote for the Bandit. Never seen a bomber with the little ridge down the side.

Don't think it is a Bandit, eyes are wrong. I say it is a Bomber of some sort. This pic is a Fat A Bomber. Not exactly the same pattern but close.

Looks like a Bandit knockoff that the luremaking sites sell to me. That or one of the cheap baits that Wal-Mart sells?

If it is a knockoff it is a darn good one, to me the eyes almost look like they were added later and not as part of the original. Grabbed pics of one of my many Bandits, usually I lose them before they catch me 10 fish, so this mad cow was retired. They all catch fish, the great onset just snag up less.

Are the knockoffs any good? With the recent price increase I only buy on sale. I do have a decent stash knowing I will lose 10-20 a year.

You ever on the new old RS forum anymore?

I believe I had an old Walmart knock-off just like that years back. Walmart actually marketed some good generic baits (FLW, Dance's brands, Mister Twister stuff, BASS, etc.) that were other company's stuff made just for Wally World distribution. They even had their own balsa shad rap knock-off made by Mister Twister (says so on the bill- I still have one). I am pretty sure that Bandit 100 knock-off is a Wally world special, but I could be wrong. I was wrong once before back in '83.

Busy with family life so I don't have as much time as I use to. I suggest buying a lure retriever as I have only lost 5 baits in the past 7 or 8 years since getting one. It looks like a knock off to me since Bandit never made that pattern that I am aware of but it looks identical to the baits that were sold by Barlows, Janns, etc.
