riverbasser Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 It catches more fish if you call it a bladed jig 16 Quote

I've had much success hopping it off bottom and pulling it though weeds. Lol this notion that you HAVE to use it like a spinner bait makes me chuckle. Even if that was "how it was intended to be fished when it was designed " there's more than one way to skin a cat brother . Chatterbaits are awesome. I like the "freedom" versions where you can swap hooks . 5 Quote

BassB8Caster Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Better story....DD grabbed it on the fall, wrapped me around a stump and broke me off deep. 1 Quote

Super User JustJames Posted April 15, 2017 Super User Posted April 15, 2017 I only caught one bass with chatterbait, but lost like 2 or three so far. Actually twos but the second jumped and the hook came loose. Actually 4, 2 bass and 2 catfish. 1 Quote
TxHawgs Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 Haven't caught a fish on one yet. Have fished it a little bit over past yr and a half. I attribute it to not fishing it in the right locations as a co-angler. It's not been like the boater catching them on one but not me. Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted April 15, 2017 Super User Posted April 15, 2017 I want to like them, and have caught a few fish on them, but I seem to have more luck with spinnerbaits and swimjigs. Quote
iiTzChunky Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 That is odd. It's usually the first thing I throw when hitting a new body of water. I can cover some ground and typically don't get hung up on anything 2 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted April 16, 2017 Super User Posted April 16, 2017 Those brush piles that are 40' out from the bank and just under the surface of the water do me in every time. Quote

The agree with this. I can fish through anything in a boat and be fine but from the bank and I can get hung up with no hook it seems like! I wonder if if it isn't the difference in angle. Fishing from the bank normally had much less angle than a boat. Not sure why but seems to make a difference. Quote
BassOnKlinger Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Tied on my first chatterbait in black and blue today. Caught three in 30 minutes with a slow and steady retrieve. Loved it. 1 Quote
