Welcome aboard, Maddox!

Best hooks by my estimation are:

1) Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap in #1, 1/0, 2/0

2) Gamakatsu Split Shot/Drop Shot #2, 1, 1/0, 2/0

There are other fine brands, but I've wandered and

come back to Gammy...

When it comes to weedless, I tie my own and use the

same...

My humble 2 cents.

Owner wacky 2/0- some prefer a straight point vs the curved point but I rarely miss fish with these hooks and dont lose many when hooked.

I can't tell the difference between owner and Gammy, the hook up ratio is equally high.

I think how you attach the plastic is more important, ie 2 rings

Thanks guys do y'all thing I should go the weedlees route with a hook weed guard that is attached to the hook or one weed guard similar to what's on a jig.

Thanks Maddox

Here's how I wrap my weedless hooks:

The Owner 5172 weedless wacky hook has a specific shape that is ideal for wacky hooking soft plastics. The Owner 5114 Mutu light circle hook prevents gut hooking. Both are excellent choices.

Gamakatsu wide gap finesse weedless wacky hooks are good but not a fan of the weed gaurd.

I really love this hook. Only one I want to use anymore.

I don't usually fish stick worms wacky style when dealing with heavy cover or weeds. If I fish cover, I'll be tossing them Texas rigged instead. When I do fish wacky, I'll always have on a 1/0 Gamakatsu inline circle hook. That way I raise my percentage of lip hooked (vs. gut hooked) bass. I get the ones with the turned up eye and use a snell knot on the hook. Very reliable.

Been using Bass Pro XPS 1/0 hooks for a few years now with no problems. I plan on ordering some buckeye lures flick-it hooks to try.

How would you wrap your hooks

thanks Maddox

I bought a cheap fly tying kit at BPS,

some thread, a whip finisher.

And pored over how to vids from InTheRiffle,

but I experimented and came up with my own

methods (using his, of course, the guy is a master):

2/0 VMC Neko hooks.

The fish are stuck like glue, and they're terrific dropshot and Neko Rig hooks, as well.

let's dig this old thread up.  I have a question when comparing two hooks.

Currently I use the Gama Wicked Wacky Hooks (1/0) for my 5" senkos.  I like the hook and how it performs bu that price tag hurts every time I need to restock.  I have noticed the Owner weedless hooks that look almost the same as the Gama's, except for the hook bend and eye orientation.  The Owner's are a tad bit cheaper for one additional hook as well.

Has anyone used both hooks and seen a difference?  Does one rank supreme over the other when it comes to fish hooked and the weedless ability.

I use the eagle claw weedless hooks or something similar.

I've been using the Berkley Fusion19 weedless wacky hooks and I really like them.  Sticky, really weedless/snagless, and I haven't lost many fish using them.

And that weed guard is soft enough to not interfere with hookset? It must be if you're not losing many. A lot of guard to get in the way. Or so it seems

I have used the same Eagle Claw weedless 1/0 hooks for the past 2 months and had great success with them. They past the test for me when I was able to wrestle a Smallmouth that was just shy of 4 pounds to shore with one.
