AriAngler Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Preferrably the trailer weight for the 2017 189 trx. I can't find it anywhere online. The Triton website only list the boat weight. Don't know why they wouldn't put the trailer and boat weight on there together or the trailer weight too. I'm going to be in the market purchase a boat soon I want to know the total trailer/boat weight for the Triton 189 trx because like all vehicles they have a tow limit. I just can't fine trailer weights anywhere. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted April 10, 2017 Super User Posted April 10, 2017 The easy answer to that question is to buy a bigger truck. 2 Quote
Super User BrianinMD Posted April 10, 2017 Super User Posted April 10, 2017 If you have to be worried about the weight of the trailer you are cutting it way way to close. realize also the "boat weight" in a lot of cases is dry hull weight, which does not include motor or any components inside the boat. literally just the hull.... Super User WRB Posted April 10, 2017 Super User Posted April 10, 2017 Boat and trailer fully loaded with gear, gasoline etc should be about 2,000, class B hitch rated for 3,500 lbs., if worried get a trailer with brakes. Tom 1 Quote
PECo Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 My understanding is that the 189 TrX trailer comes standard with hydraulic surge brakes. In Connecticut, a brake is required on each trailer axle if the GVWR is over 3,000 pounds. The GVWR of my 2017 179 TrX is under 2,800 pounds. The GVWR of the 2017 189 TrX is probably around 3,500 pounds. 1 Quote
