Hulkster Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Hi all, so after reading much glowing reviews, I decided to try Sufix mono. my question is the local store near me has the packages that do not appear to be 'G2 precision' wound. ie they are skinny spools like say Trilene. The ones I have seen marked G2 are big fat spools. is there a difference? or is it marketing hype/gimmick? I can get the 'fat spools' but have to go to a different store. its the same line, but some appear to be wound differently even though they are both 330 yard spools (fat spool vs skinny spool) what gives? thanks Quote
EvanT123 Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 I'm a big fan of suffix. I always buy the precision wound and it works great. I also use big game which is not and it works great too. I don't think you will see much difference between the two. Quote
The Bassman Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 I think the idea with "precision wound" is that the line diameter stays more consistent when it's not randomly spooled on itself. Really doesn't seem likely to me. Sufix is great but so are others. Quote
KDW96 Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Weve been buying line for decades. The line worked fine then and now. This precision wound thing is just marketing to me. Now if you get a spool that looks like its been spooled by hand, id pass on it Quote
