fishingfuji Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Hey guys, so from experiences fishing lately, I would have to describe the bass as being in pre-spawn mode. Catching them mostly in areas close to (what I suspect) spawning beds. Are you guys experiencing the same thing? Quote

Super User bowhunter63 Posted April 7, 2017 Super User Posted April 7, 2017 Yea it was frosty this morning.Cold rain and up and temps.Hopefully this was our last cold blast. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted April 9, 2017 Super User Posted April 9, 2017 I have been catching them around deep structure, or shallow in the weeds. The bass are being very picky in what they are hitting. I have only had luck casting small swimbaits, and Mann's 1 minus crankbaits. I'm not sure if it's the weather or what. 1 Quote

Hawghead Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Fished is small community reservoir sunday. Water was very cool, murky, and low. Bass were concentrated around laydowns. We boated 12. The best four 2 Quote
MisplacedTexan99 Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Had some luck on the ned rig recently on the conservation lakes. Seemed like they were still pretty scattered out Quote
countryboy65 Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 The bass are really shallow in my home lake, in the weeds or spawning. I've been mostly either topwater fishing or bed fishing. Quote
Jaderose Posted April 25, 2017 Posted April 25, 2017 Hit Paho last Tuesday. Sunup water temp was 60. By the time we left, (sundown) the water had risen by as much as 10! degrees in some places. The bass were moving into the shallows all day. Definitely pre-spawn. It's cooled off a bit and I haven't been back out. I imagine this cold front has made the bite pretty tough. Quote
MisplacedTexan99 Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 Got skunked today, first time in a very long time. Water was pretty clear but the wind was crazy. Couldn't buy a bite, and I threw the whole bag at them. I also didn't see any bait fish activity near the banks. Pretty frustrated after today hopefully this weekend is better. Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted April 26, 2017 Super User Posted April 26, 2017 Still raining and cold,Went a few days ago and short strikes with no hook ups.Used a Rage swimmer and they would push it.Talked to Big O and he said try a little JJ magic on the tail.I threw everything with no luck.Hopefully it quits raining soon.
