I didn't find much about these rods When I bought I but I was intrigued by the Air wave guides and Winn grip on a $80. I bought the ML finesse spinning rod and 7' Heavy rod. When they arrived I was shocked how light they were for the money. They seem Very well built for their price point. I cannot comment on performance since I haven't gotten to the water yet but some of the tricks I know test sensitivity puts it in par with my Fury and Fiber and Veritas. If it performs as well as it feels I'll be saving some money and buying $80 sticks over my normal $100 ones

Plus one more!

I have the heavy I bought at a local sports show. Have only used it a few times because of some surgery but I v really like it for the price point. I especially like the grips too!

I can't wait to get on the water and try them I got the spinning rod for weightless plastics and the heavy for flippin and pitchin. They are so light weight I won't be fatigued at all with either rod if using all day.

Yesterday i caught my fist fish on the 6'9 medium mach rod. I can now officially say its a great rod. And matches great with the mach reel. And sorry for tail touching the ground. Tried to have him in the air but didnt realize his tail was touching

I was at scheels today and held one for the first time and I was amazed by just the feel of them for the price, I've held other lews rods that cost a lot more and used a few here and there that were my buddy's and I like the Machs feel way more...having said that I would have bought one in a heartbeat had it not been for the green on the handle and butt, just not a fan of the look...

Interesting that this rod is made from IM6 graphite, but if you buy the rod/reel combo (which looks identical), that rod is made of IM8 blanks.

how did the rods hold up this season?

So Far so good. I use the ML Spinning rod every time out. The heavy is great but doesn't get the attention other rods get.

They changed the blank used in the rods earlier this year (April or May I believe). The combos come with the new rods but individual rods are still IM6 until they are completely gone then the IM8 will start rolling out. I looked at buying another one a few weeks ago and my local Gander Mountain had individual IM6 and IM8 all mixed in together in their display.

thanks.  how are the MicroWave guides?  I'm worried about them being a weird gimmick.  any chance you use braid/leader?  I don't like micro guides b/c the connection knot slams so hard when casting.  I'm worried about the same thing but they look slightly larger in the pix

I use 24# gliss with a leader on it. I tie an double uni knot and have had no problem with the guides. The majority of my rods are Carrot Stix which all have the microwave guides. I like them they increase casting distance and I am also more accurate with them (Don't know if its the guides or confidence).

Picked up a 7'6" Heavy this last year and love it.  Very durable rod.  Not a huge fan of the green either, but I overlooked that for the price and feel of the rod.

I am impressed with the Lew's Speed Stick line of rods.

I picked up one of the DSG exclusive Carbon Fire rods when they were half price. I can say it is the best rod I have ever bought for $40 I love the Winn Grips and how light it is. I will have to check out the Mach series.
