NorthE97 Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Just curious as to which treble hooks you use to replace crankbaits, jerkbaits, and topwaters that come with so-so hooks. Seems to me the most popular ones are KVD triple grips, Owner St-36s, and Gamakatsu. Any specific reason one over the other? Any info is appreciated. Thanks. Quote
Super User NHBull Posted April 6, 2017 Super User Posted April 6, 2017 Hard to beat the 36's and I am trying the 35's. If the owners were not available, I would go gammy Quote
CTBassin860 Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Haven't tried the stinger 36's yet,but i use the KVD 2x short 1x strong triple trebles. Quote

Super User everythingthatswims Posted April 7, 2017 Super User Posted April 7, 2017 I like the good ol' gamakatsu bronze round bends. I don't lose many fish on them at all. Quote
cwb60 Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 What size treble would you replace the hooks on a 130 whopper plopper with? Quote

For bass, I'd replace with ST-36. If I were targeting something with a bony jaw, like northern pike or musky, then I'd want the cutting points on the ST-41. The stock hooks look fine for bass, right out of the box. Quote
