Caliyak Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I have seen many videos on the Tube but no one mentions limits. For example, what would be the minimum size swimbait to rig? 3 inch, 4 inch Hollow body vs full body? What swimbaits would be better for this rig? Size of treble hook? I was thinking of rigging the treble on top vs the bottom, thoughts? last question, how would this rigging mess up the action of the bait? Quote
Big Swimbait Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I always use a coffee stir straw inserted into the bait. For this way, solid body baits are best. I've done it on all size baits - treble size depends on the bait size. As long as the entry point is in the center of the nose, I have not seen any problems with bait action. 1 Quote
Big Swimbait Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Here's something new designed by Bill Lowen for Lure Parts Online that I have ordered but not tried yet. I really like the concept. It's basically a weighted swimbait head with a screw lock keeper. The passage for the line-thru is molded into the head. http://www.lurepartsonline.com/Online-Store/Hot-New-Items/Lowens-Signature-Slip-Shad-Jig.html 2 Quote

You place the treble hook on top and bottom of the bait? Quote

Super User Montanaro Posted April 5, 2017 Super User Posted April 5, 2017 There are no limits! Only your imagination. You can get a hollow body and run a line through and stuff a bullet weight into belly. 1 Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I saw that you could use one of those CPS screw pins and attach a treble hook to the bottom of the swimbait like that. I have not tried it yet to see if it's possible. 1 Quote
