Top 3 jigs for bass

In your opinion what are your top 3 jigs for bass? If you could include the color and the brand that would be very helpful. Also if you like a specific trailer behind it. Thanks

That's a lot of specifics, but I'll start with my top three.  #1 would be an Arkie head with a vertical line tie.   #2 would be a football head, preferably tungsten. #3 would be a shakey head. Color wouldn't matter as much as the trailer I was using and that would either be brown/green or black/blue, with white or pearl as a second.

Honestly I think I could catch a bass on any color available. Idk specific colors but I buy what I see and its a mix of greens, browns, black, blue, orange and red. Sometimes chartreuse

Pumpkin or green craw strike king bitsy flip 3/8 with pumpkin fat albert. Its smaller than even finesse jigs but seems to work well. http://i.imgur.com/eAGis1b.jpg

 

I also use a certain branded jig that has two solid rubber weedguards and I haven't lost a single one in over a year. I quit using most traditional jigs because I lose those so frequently.

I am a huge Siebert and Norsthar jig fan. I probably have over 500 or more of both combined. I have burned through a lot of jigs in search for what I would call the perfect jig. These two companies check more of the boxes than the others I have used.

 

If you want some very realistic swimjigs take a close look at the 6th Sense Devine swimjigs on the 6th Sense Website. Another really sharp looking swimjig is the Dirty jigs swim jigs. Great skirt and custom painted heads on these but the price like the 6th sense is more than Northstar and Siebert. I also think they should be wire tied but I am guessing they are selling so many of them they don't want to mess with the labor cost to do this. I have a batch of 24 swimjigs on the way from Lockjaw Custom Jigs as a recommendation from a few guys. They have a buyback guarantee should the skirt fail and come apart. They are very realistic but I have been waiting 7 weeks now for the jigs so build time is in issue if you are needing them sooner rather than later.

 

If you are wondering about colors I like a lot but you can get by with a few. For swimjigs something like a shad and bluegill and then a green pumpkin variation will cover you really well. For you bottom contact jigs I would black/blue, Green pumpkin, and then maybe an in between color like a bama bug or okechobee craw.

 

For head styles I like a swim style and brush or alien head unless you fish a lot of sand/gravel/rock then you may want to look at football or ball style heads.

 

Jig fishing can be as simple or as complex as you want to make. Start simple and as you develop a better understanding and preferences you can expand from there.

To me, pepper jigs from pepper custom baits are the very best. My top three:

 

1. Pepper Original jigs in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 ounce. Black blue, clear lake special (brown orange) or Green Pumpkin are the best, with a matching rage chunk or paca chunk trailer for warmer conditions, and a zoom super chunk for cold water.

 

2. Pepper Football Jig: I go with 1/2 and 3/4 ounce and occasionally 1 ounce. I use the same trailers as above

 

3. Pepper Micro Jig: Same colors, either a tiny paca chunk or a Culprit DW2 trailer.

I make my jigs, top 3 would be hair jigs; 1) Anywhere Anytime: Black/purple/brown, 2) Spring Craw: black/green/brown, 3) Shad: black/green/chartruese/white. Trailers are custom pork in one of the hair colors. Been using these since '71 and they still work good.

I mainly use just the Siebert baits now days but I have a few others and pretty much like the Nutechlures. So If Mike quit today I'd probably go to Nutechlures. It is just extremely hard to find a better deal for handmade to your liking in every way at the price Mike sells them for. 

1. Dredge Brush Jig w/ Owner Deep Throat jig hook from siebertoutdoors.com  Several colors I like a lot are Bluegill, Black Brown Amber, and California Craw. 
2. Nutechlures Pro Series Jig Several colors I like a lot are Crawdad Brown, and Missouri Craw.  

As for trailers I use the Netbait Paca series as well as Havoc Pit Boss and in many colors. I use the Tiny Paca Craw and the 3" Pit Boss on like the 3/8 oz jigs and Baby Paca Craw as well as the 4" Pit Boss on 1/2 oz and bigger. The Bluegill colored jig does me good with the Junebug colored trailer. The Brown/Orange colored Paca baits go well with the Black Brown Amber and the Crawdad Brown colored jigs. Just have to use your imagination. Sometimes I don't try and make them match and Ill have a contrasting color.

Siebert Outdoors Brush Jigs in Sweet Craw, Bluegill, Brown/Orange, and Black/Blue.  It's as close to an all-terrain jig as I've found, and those colors cover just about every scenario.

My top three in no particular order would be Siebert's Gridiron G2, Nu[Tech]'s pro series, and Jackall's spade TG jig. Colors vary by season, water clarity, etc.

Interesting...I was fully expecting you to say 'Jann's Netcraft',

they stock deer hair, elk hair, bear hair, squirrel hair, fox hair, everything except Westmoreland polar bear hair
