j bab Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 This isn't an invitation (sorry ), I'm just sharing about this little tournament we're doing because I'm excited about it. I'm doing a (very) small BANK fishing tournament with some friends this weekend at a lake that none of us have been to. It's at Grand Lake tomorrow from 7am-2pm. We're going to treat our cars like "boats," meaning we can drive around to whatever publicly accessible areas we want throughout the day. Odds are we're gonna be in the same spots. We're doing MLF format using their Scoretracker Live software, and I'm requiring that everyone takes a picture of every fish on a digital scale for proof. It's gonna be fun! Hopefully I win 5 Quote
Ski213 Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 That's a cool concept. I'd say y'all will have a big time with it! Several friends and I did something similar years ago and had a blast. It was my first tournament type experience. I hope it goes well and good luck! Quote
j bab Posted April 1, 2017 Author Posted April 1, 2017 Thanks @Ski213 I won with 8 fish for 10-12 2nd was 6 for 5-10 3rd was 2 for 1-14 4th was 0 My first fish of the day was 3-7 in the first 30 minutes! CTBassin860 Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Its to bad we couldnt do like a Bass Resource LTB slam this summer. Not for prizes or anything, but for the sheer entertainment of the videos it will provide. You can use one rod and one reel for all the baits in the box. Gives me a reason to start LTB again. Quote

I'm not sure that I was "allowed" to be there, but no one bothered me and at one of the spots a couple employees just said hey and moved along. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 3, 2017 Global Moderator Posted April 3, 2017 Marinas a touchy. Some don't care, some act like they're guarding a missile silo. That's a huge lake to try to tackle from shore, and not very bank fisherman friendly. I'd be happy to catch anything in that situation. 1 Quote

Yeah we were there for a retreat so we decided to fish while we were there. I probably wouldn't make a special trip just to bank fish from there I was pleasantly surprised by the amount I caught Quote
