Brnnoser6983 Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Recently I upgraded from a transom to a bow mount Minn Kota. I plan on putting an I Pilot on it but before doing so I have some questions. I play on putting a Humminbird SI/GPS G2. Do I need to have the G2N though to speak to the I Pilot to follow charter plots and what not, or will a G2 be sufficient? My understanding is the G2N is more for running multiple head units with I Pilot. Quote

Super User Wayne P. Posted March 31, 2017 Super User Posted March 31, 2017 Follow the contour works only with Humminbird Lakemaster digital maps or Auto Chart, Auto Chart Pro, or Auto Chart Live. It takes the iPilot LINK version motor and that is an Ethernet connection. No G2 models have Ethernet capability as they are either Helix 5 or Helix 7 models. Any Helix 9, 10, or 12 model as well as the Helix 7 G2N models are Ethernet capable. Quote
