Agree on the Vision 110.  Problem with those is they are made in Japan to be fished on very light tackle and line so the hooks are quite weak.

Most tournament anglers switch them out.  I recommend Gamakatsu #6 finesse trebles.  You won't bend those bad boys out.

I use visions all the time and never lost a fish because of bent hooks, and I fish them on 10# seaguar abrasix. They just seem to catch more fish for me then the others pointers and duo included, I own some of each just dont seem to do as well with them. To me value is also figured into how well they catch fish, I'd much rather throw a $25 lure that always catches fish then a $10 that sometimes catches fish. When it comes to jerkbaits I believe the more realistic they are the better. Bass will swim right up and just stare at a jerk most of the time before they hit it. Unlike a spinnerbait or a crankbait that gets hit purely out of reaction.

Bomber Long A...

I have most of the others listed but almost always throw the Bomber first.

I'm going to give the Duo Realis 120sp a shot. Ordered it in Morning Dawn. Anybody have experience with those?

Great baits!!! Ivory Halo, Neo Pearl and Ghost Gill perform for me. Colors vary between 100, 110, 120sp and the 100DR.

Plenty of experience. They are a winner.

The Rick Clunn STX is my favorite value jerkbait, work's really well and doesn't cost a ton. The Megabass Visions are my favorite overall, just can't afford many of them like I want to.

Strike King KVD's are about all I use anymore.

Tournaments or fun fishing.

I don't believe in having separate sets of gear/tackle for each. I know people who do, and I think it's about the dumbest thing ever.

Rapala Husky Jerk. I don't throw jerkbaits often but they are the ones I throw.

Most big bass, over 3 lbs have bent the hooks on my Vision 110+ jerkbaits in the past.  They are very thin hooks and tough to drive thru the mouth, they just seem to skin hook them.  The Gamakatsu replacements make a huge difference, give them a try.  The #6 Finesse hooks don't change the action or suspension one bit.

I fish the Vision 110 exclusively in clear water.  The hand painted bodies are very natural looking and really glimmer in clear, sunlit water.  I find they don't do as well in stained water at which point I go to the brighter, less natural colored baits.

Uh, most tournament anglers fish them as they are, they just use lighter line and rods. The thing that makes the Vision 110 so good is that it is precisely weighted, it doesn't suspend, it slow flats so you can get away with a slight upsize on the hooks, normally just the front and rear but go too heavy and it ruins the triggering qualities. Certain baits you just don't mess with and that is one that you don't need to, just use some drag and light line and play the fish, simple.

One of the most expensive baits I use is also one of my most reliable for shore fishing. Bagley balsa bagalure. With our without the spintail between 0-3 feet has been absolutely deadly for me lately. I've caught fish from 1lb and about the same size as the 5 inch lure on the lure itself to 7lb fish on rhe four inch versaion1491099305620.thumb.png.613f100751f38314a7c0fa23a91b1e19.png

Spro McStick. I got a few on clearance last year that have quickly become my favorites.

I've always done well with X-Raps and last year really did well fishing the Shadow Rap and Shadow Rap Shad series from Rapala.  They don't break the bank and I catch big fish with all of them on a year round basis, from colder fall type water to hot summer days and nights.

I haven't pulled the plug on any Lucky Craft or Megabass lures simply because the cost is high. There might be a time when I may splurge and create a mini box of those jerkbaits, but that time certainly isn't now.

For value, you cannot beat Dynamic Lures J spec and Travado, or Deep Travado jerkbaits. Rattlin' Rogues work great and for under 10 bucks, X raps and Shadow Raps are fantastic. I love Lucky Craft pointers and have my share of them, and they catch tons of fish for sure and come with more quality hardware. The others fish as well as a pointer for me though. Still the pointer is worth having and I wouldn't hesitate to stock up, just have a telescoping style lure retriever and a hound dog type lure retriever as well, and you will seldom lose a bait.
