I finished all my boat prep and was planning on hitting the water this weekend but with the snow/sleet/ice/rain in the forecast looks like another week before that happens.  60s in February and just an absolutely miserable March.  Figures.

Yup, woke up to about 4 and supposed to get another 2-4 during the day today. It just wont end

It sure does! I've been working on all equipment and was just thinking its time to take the shrink wrap off and then bam. It's discouraging for sure but can only hope it was the last of it. Each winter seems to get harder for me as each year passes I used to love it now not so much. Even with ice fishing I've hit a point where I feel as though I could take it or leave it the last several winters. Well heres to sunshine and tight lines.

In a blatant disregard to her protection from abuse order, mother nature is ADDING ice to the lake upta camp.

May I humbly suggest sending Mother Nature the...uh,

the "finger" and move down south to say, Virginia, NC,

SC, GA, FL, LA, TX, and so forth... ? :)

Yeah, we've been talking about doing the snow bird thing. We have friends in SC and MS that would love to show us around.

And put up with all the tornadoes and severely damaging weather? And how about the bugs? I'm happy being a New Englander myself. Makes the first trip out, after the ice leaves, all that more exciting!

Well, yeah, bugs can be a thing. Tornadoes,

hurricanes? Yeah. But you can fish all year

long!! :D

I lived in the Rochester, NY area for a good

part of my life. Done with snow, done with

ice, done with 9 months of winter. :)

Different strokes for different folks, eh?

I couldn't imagine 9 months of winter.

Being born and raised in Houston and then living the last 6 years in Florida....I've never experienced more than 3 consecutive days of winter at once....and wouldn't have it any other way lol.

Fishing all year is a HUGE advantage.

:D

I snowmobile late December through mid March which I love as much, if not more, than fishing so winter tends to fly by.  Mid March through mid April is tough.  Looks like we're finally getting a break in the weather this weekend so my boat will be getting wet for the first time in 17.  Can't wait.

Winter is when the bugs and other biting things die. Like snakes and alligators.  It's one of the upsides
