paularchibald8 Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Hi guys, so i have been thinking about giving hard body swimbaits a shot this season. I have a 7'2" Heavy setup i just got and was planning on putting 17# fluoro on the reel with it and was wondering if this would be sufficient to throw some smaller hard body swimbaits? Not planning on throwing huge ones more just throwing the occasional one because at this point i dont have the freedom to but another decent setup and dont want to buy a cheap rod i wont use alot. Thanks guys and any suggestions would be great. Also if anyone has any suggestions on cheaper swimbaits they throw with success that would be great to. Thx all Quote
bigturtle Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 for baits under 1.5oz, 17lb should be fine. 1 Quote
Cgrinder Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 River2sea S-waver 168. Inexpensive and gets bit. Currently throwing it on 14 lb (.38 mm) Siege mono without issues. Quote
