Also do you guys fish them on you H frog rod,MH jig rod or say a shorter M topwater rod?? Quote
Chance_Taker4 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 WKeitech Noisy Flapper or Rage Toads for me. I throw them on my Hvy frog setup. 1 Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted March 26, 2017 Super User Posted March 26, 2017 Rage toads for me in all but gin clear water, and my dirty little secret is a Havoc pit boss in clear water, they are a little on the light side weightless, so sometimes a lightly belly weighted hook on a "rage rig" is needed to be able to cast them effectively. 1 Quote
Jtrout Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I use the bps humpin toads in green pumpkin and black i like throwing them around stumps the bigger bass just slurp them up! Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted March 26, 2017 Global Moderator Posted March 26, 2017 I've tried others but always go back to the Zoom Mike 3 Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted March 26, 2017 Super User Posted March 26, 2017 Zoom,Netbait! Oh Sizmac Quote

NorthE97 Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Zoom Horny Toad in black with owner twistlock light weighted hook Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted March 27, 2017 Super User Posted March 27, 2017 Zoom horny toad as well. Casts well, reasonably priced, good color selection and fairly durable too. Also makes a very nice jig trailer as well. 1 Quote
wdp Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 50/50 between a Stanley Ribbitt or Zoom Horny Toad. Some days the fish like one more than the other. Every once in a while I'll throw a Rage Toad. I throw em on a 7' MH with 30 lb braid. 1 Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted March 27, 2017 Super User Posted March 27, 2017 Gambler. Durable and garlic scented with great lift and action. Ive used zoom and stanley and rage. Zoom are 2nd fav and rage is least favorite 1 Quote
GreenGhostMan Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Been throwing stanley ribbits mostly, because wally world had them for $2 a pack. Stocked up on them. But my favorite is the V&M bayou bullfrog. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Stanley Ribbit with a Double-Take hook is my favorite. I really like the Kietech Noisy Flappers too, but the Ribbit price is better. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted March 28, 2017 Super User Posted March 28, 2017 my all time favorite buzz frog is the 4.5'' Canyon Plastics frog !! 15 hours ago, roadwarrior said: Rage Toad since you know the guy who designed them , maybe you can talk him into making a bigger size !!! Quote
Mokujon Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Zoom for subtle, Stanley for medium and Strike king for most kicking action. All depends where I am and what the conditions are but those are the 3 I always have with me. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted March 28, 2017 Super User Posted March 28, 2017 It used to be all 'hollow frogs', then in 2004 the Zoom Horny Toad launched 'Solid Toad' mania. If you're looking for buzzbait-like commotion, you'd have trouble beating the Strike King Rage Toad. For the early post-spawn though, I usually toss a Stanley Ribbit or Gambler Cane Toad Roger Quote
crypt Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 Gambler Cane Toad....................... flippin stick. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted March 28, 2017 Super User Posted March 28, 2017 I've tried all the big one's. Zoom Toad, Rage Toad, Keitech Noisy Flapper. They've all worked well for me. I've also thrown the Zoom Z-Craw as a toad bait as well and it's worked well too. Quote
S. Sass Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 I have a few of the Sizmic Toads and the Zoom Horny Toads. I actually never use them though. Just never seem to get to them Ill throw other stuff but eventually I will try them I guess. Maybe a symptom of the bait monkey giving me too many choices. Quote
cpvenom Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Like RoLo said, in the mid 2000's, solid bodied toads were the hot topic on these forums. I used to throw the Horny Toad all the time, but I haven't used one in a few years now, for no real reason. I have an old bag of Stanley Ribbits that I was thinking about using this spring, so thanks for the reminder! Quote
Dogmatic Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Case plastics Buzzin' Frog, or a 3:16 No Bull Frog for a larger presentation. Quote
