RyanDR Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 On my rod build on my 2nd coat of epoxy, epoxy dripped and filled up a few of my size 4.5 microguides while it was on the rod dryer! Is there anything I can do to salvage those few guides or am I going to have to order and wait for new ones to come and replace them? Thanks, Ryan Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Carefully pop it out with razor blade or exacto knife. You're not the first or last to have this issue. Don't sweat it. 1 Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted March 26, 2017 Super User Posted March 26, 2017 What he said, or a tiny drill bit spun by hand to clear the guide. 1 Quote
RyanDR Posted March 26, 2017 Author Posted March 26, 2017 Thanks guys. With some careful work I got it out after a while. I was worried I would have to wait the week plus to get the same guides to come in the mail. Quote
Super User flechero Posted March 26, 2017 Super User Posted March 26, 2017 Just a thought- if you are using multiple coats and still enveloping guides, I think you are applying it too heavy, or your dryer set up is significantly out of level. 2 Quote
