I found this hook in a box of fishing lures I got at an auction. I have tried doing research and can't seem to find anything on it. Anyone have any ideas or know what it is and how it works?

It's a worm hook, I believe Mustad made it?

Thats a funky hook.

Hooks like that used to come in Gitzit Tube and/or Gitzit spider grub packages.

That looks like a worm hook I've seen in old magazine ads, made by Culprit I think (not sure if it's the same one, but looks similar). The short end goes straight into the nose of the worm as a keeper, and the long end goes into the side of worm, as in a texas rig. I think I'd rather have a closed line-tie, though.

I think Lew's made that a long time ago, called it the Speed Hook.

Another vote for Lew's Speed Sticker. Lindy also made a similar style hook but with an extra bend near the eye called the Sure-Lok.

They discontinued them in the last few years.  I bought a bunch for cheap at a fleamarket and while googling around for info found a lot of awful pictures of guys with that small front hook just buried in their hands from when the fish jumped right at the moment the angler was unhooking them.

I think I still have a pack or three somewhere, but I threw the bulk of them out.
