vaparrothead Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I have a 9' 6" Bass Hunter Stalker boat. Fits great in the back of my Town & Country and VERY stable. I fell out reaching for a rod I "accidently" kicked overboard; boat never even tipped. Even managed in climb back in without rocking the boat. Mine doesn't have the decks but don't think that'll matter much in the stability factor. Quote
Hale Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I just watched a Bill Dance show last night where he was in one of these with his wife (out is some liitle farm pond). He was scooting around in it catching fish jsut fine. Quote
Pond Hopper Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 Also have a bass hunter and it is a pretty stable boat. I havent even come close to tipping it or falling out. I think one like that with the decks would be nice because it appears to have a spot to put the trolling motor but there is no storage on the sides for rods, etc. Nice little boats to haul around for small bodies of water. NJfishinGuy Posted September 21, 2006 Author Posted September 21, 2006 well for a new one the cheapest i found was $1360 but for the moneyn i dont see how you could beat it even at the new price its you only want a small boat. its holds the weight, handles 15hp, have place for 2 batteries, can mount a foot pedal motor has an areated live well all prewired with a front switch panel and lights already. im knda inlove with this little thing i wanna get one and sell my john boat for the small places my big boat wont go into Quote
RatONaStick Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I have this boat, bought it used this spring and absolutely love it. For what I do it's perfect, as well as being extremely stable for a boat it's size. I don't know if you have seen these posts, check them out. You should find all the info on it you need, if not feel free to ask any questions. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1149206668/11#11 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1151286169/5#5 Quote
vaparrothead Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 My Bass Stalker doesn't have live well or lights, etc but the price is only $449. Here's the web site if your interested. I spent just about a grand total for boat, trolling motor, battery, charger, everything and it's been well worth it. http://www.directboats.com/minbasfisboa.html Quote
cast_n_pray Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Here's another alternative, very similar to the one you're interested in, comes in at under$1000. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/sm-pelican-predator-dlx-fishing-utility-boat--pi-2131681.html Quote
Fish Chris Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I have a trophy bass buddy who fishes out of one of these, and has caught numerous giant bass to 17.2 lbs out of his. That boat on the water, is infinitely more effective, than a 60K high performance bass boat, which is parked on somebodies driveway, while they work their butt off to pay for it. Peace, Fish Quote
mollyb Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I have had a bass hunter boat stalker for three years and love it. The only problem was the seats. I saw a guy fishing in a pond on a bass hunter boat near my home. And he had something call seat tracks. And I though what a great idea. So I ask where did you get them. He said he purchased them from the internet at www.basshunterboatseattracks.com so I ordered some for my boat and that fixed my seat problem. mollyb Quote
earthworm77 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 My partner had the boat you have pictured. He had lots of problems with the pedestal seat mounts. He snapped one totally off while setting the hook. I have a 10.2 Tracker made by Pelican. It is pretty much the same as the Bass Hunter boats. I'm looking to sell it, to bad you aren't down in Florida. Mine has a 4HP Johnson, 55lb Minn Kota, Padded swivel seats with caddies on each, Optima Blue top battery, flatbed trailer. It is the same boat I used in both of my Lunkerville TV appearances. Quote

I'm 230lb and my buddy weighs every bit of 280lb, I have not had a single problem out of the seats/mounts. Curious about the 10.2 tracker you mentioned, will it get up on plane???? Quote
RatONaStick Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 About the seats/pedestal mounts, Earthworm and I dicussed it and it was the screws in the base that pulled out of the deck. This is easily corrected by adding bolts with washers/nuts so they don't pull out. I just thought this info would be useful for anyone considering buying one of these boats. Quote
