Hey everyone, I was looking to get a swimbait and punching rod for around 50$. For the swimabits, I will be throwing 3-8 ounces, and for punching 1/2-2 1/4 ounce.

I doubt there are any rods in that price range new.  Most swimbait rods cost way more than that. For pitching, flipping and Punching you could go with the Abu Garcia Veritas in a Heavy which will go up to 1 1/2. They run $80.

The cheapest swimbait rod I know of is a Dobyns Fury FR 806SB.  That will run $119.

I did see one on their Refurbished list the other day a 806SB but it's gone now. Might keep a eye out there they are only $80.00

The berkley lightning shock heavy rod is in the price range. It is pretty stout and should be able to handle a 3 oz bait, but 8 oz might be too much

13 came out with an 80 dollar swimbait rod, idk that it would be the best punching rod.

the lightning shock would do fine with punching,

Pick on or the other.  NO rod will do what you are asking.

Megabass Super Red Demon can both do swimbaits and punching, but it's way out of your price range. Over $400. They may be more expensive now because they are out of production. Handles 1/2 oz up to 8 oz lures. I use mine fore double duty when I fish in Mexico so I don't have to take 2 rods.

This.

And I would also recommend saving up a little bit more for a better rod, I'm not talking a lot but maybe more around the 100 range. There are certain technqiues where skimping on the rod might not let you down....swimbait fishing is not one of those technqiues.

So for whatever MY opinion matters.  Swimbaits of that size can be thrown on a variety of rods (Saltwater, Musky).  Look for house brand rods when they go on sale, for example I have an 8' XH Cabelas Tourney Trail "Musky" rod that is awesome for 3-5oz baits, I paid less than $40 for it new.  Punching and flipping rod, another that I have had that I thought was a good rod was the Powell Diesel 765, and those are on sale at TW right now.   You aren't going to get one rod that will do what you are looking for, but with some poking around you will find stuff cheap that will get your bases covered.
