Stephen Selph Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 So I got a good deal on a 2016 Antres DC about a month ago from a guy on Ebay which seemed to be functioning really well until yesterday.I was reeling in a 3 pound largemouth, then the handle just literally fell off. I caught the handle before it fell into the water, and I have the drag star as well. I found a parts diagram online here...So it looks like I need parts 1,2&3. Edit..That's the 2007 version of my reel. Where can I find the 2016 version, and where can I buy the parts? I'm new to JDM reels, and it doesn't sound like I have a US warranty. Thanks guys for any help. I love this reel, and I need it functioning asap. Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted March 21, 2017 Super User Posted March 21, 2017 Stephen, I'd contact Jun Sonoda @japantackle.com 3 Quote

Super User J._Bricker Posted March 21, 2017 Super User Posted March 21, 2017 Glad to be of help Stephen, Shimano USA would probably be the other option I'd explore. Due to the time difference with Japan, Jun could probably email you an answer by the time you put on a pot of coffee tomorrow morning 1 Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted March 21, 2017 Super User Posted March 21, 2017 I would contact the tackle trap for that. Probably could get you it quicker. Its just the drive shaft nut and cover/screw. Have them source you them and you can use any nut as long as its the correct size to get you by. 2 Quote
nameiztaken Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 How on earth... Not going to question it. Just make sure the drive shaft isnt stripped, if it isnt, just get the new parts like mentioned. Quote
Zimobass Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Those parts are identical to the USDM Calais DC. Part numbers BNT3616, BNT3617 and BNT3618. Shimano or Southwestern Parts will have these. The reel comes with a special socket (BNT3660) that is needed to tighten the handle nut. Shimano Calais 200DC.pdf 1 Quote
Maico1 Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 A 10 mm is all you need for the nut ...... 1 Quote

I wanted to say this as well but I wasn't 100% if shimano and Daiwa both shared a 10 mm nut. I thought I read Shimano was 11 mm but I wasn't certain.I thought I read Shimano was 11 mm but I wasn't certain. 1 Quote

Good luck getting in there without the right socket, and not damaging the nut !! Shimano did not include the socket with the reel just for fun. 1 Quote
Maico1 Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Actually I have a collection of those little sockets as it started about 11-12 years ago when the DC 7 first came out. That so called socket is a pita having to insert a handle into it to make it work. A nut driver with a 10mm thin walled socket is a lot easier to use and certainly was not to hard figure that out...... 1 Quote

Jun from japan tackle has been awesome so far. But he sent me the schematic for the 2007 version, but I don't think the part is the same. Ours doesn't have the spool tension knob, and looks like the handle is held on differently.Thank you for your help! That part number is BNT 4694 and you should be able to get it from Shimano USA..... 1 Quote

Seems too easy. I went ahead and ordered the part. Thank you. Quote
Maico1 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Yes provided you have the nut retainer and the screw that holds it on.... 1 Quote
Maico1 Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 As for the tools go to your local sears and get # 43393 1/4 nut driver and a deep thin walled 10MM socket #34624..... 1 Quote

Wonderful, I should have waited a few minutes before hit submit on the order. I will call them tomorrow and see if they will let me add those two parts to the order so I don't have to pay shipping twice. $8 shipping to send a 10mm nut! lol Are those two parts more cosmetic than anything, or do they provide more of a function to keep the nut from coming loose? Super User J._Bricker Posted March 22, 2017 Super User Posted March 22, 2017 I believe they keep the nut from coming loose... Quote
