CrazedL.IFisherman Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Has anyone done well with these, i used to own two or three different colors of these and haven't even had one nibble with them, i think I've heard some say they are awesome lures espcially for smallmouth bass, but I'm not sure and wanted to hear what you guys thought about these unique crankbaits? Super User burleytog Posted June 1, 2007 Super User Posted June 1, 2007 Great in rivers for smallmouth and walleye. Quote
snapperd1 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Near me the pike and pikerel love to bite them off the line. And yes the bass like them too. TD Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted June 1, 2007 Super User Posted June 1, 2007 I have never had any luck on them. Quote
SteveFinMD Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I have had good luck fishing them in ponds for LM bass. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 This is one of those baits that I have in my "Panic" box. It nearly always produces for me. Quote
norm2525 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I love them. I never have thrown them in the lakes around here but they are great in the creeks and rivers. The smallmouth and bream love them. Also caught some catfish and gar on them. Quote
56 crestliner Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 I love these lures for rivers. The river i fish is about 1-2 feet deep with a rock bottom. The way i like to fish them is cast them out and reel them in fast enough that im bouncing off of the rocks, i like the floating ones for this because if you get stuck under a rock just let the line go slack and the lure will usually get free. Small mouth hammer this bait when fished like this, it is my Go-To on shallow rivers. Quote
WhiteMike1018 Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 Ive caught just about everything on a rebel crawfish. They are great lures and will catch almost any freshwater fish almost anywhere. -WM Quote
30_pound_bass Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 I've never tried that for bass, but I caught a nice rainbow trout on a Rebel up in Wyoming. I would have to think smallmouth would bang it too. Quote
MarVaBC Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 Yes!....Great bait. As said, they will catch ANYthing in a river. Quote
armesjr Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 I have caught a lot of smallmouth with them in rivers and several lmb in ponds and lakes. Quote
Hop Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Like others, I have caught many smallies on a crawfish. I have also caught alot of redeyes, several trout, and one catfish on it. For me it has been more produtive in rivers. Quote
SDoolittle Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 I've cuaght a ton of fish on them, but I can't remember ever catching anything big. Quote
KevO Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Many ah smallmouth too have been fooled by my rebel crawfish. Esp. in shallow, rocky, fast moving rivers. Quote
