I have a shimano compre casting rod 7'2" worm and jig rod (worm model) Lure weight: 1/8-1/4oz, Power:medium Action: Fast paired with a citica reel. I've only used it a few times and it feels super flimsy and regret buying it. What baits/techniques would you recommend using it for? Fishing smallmouth in the ***.5 lbs range. Or would you recommend selling it or trading it? Thanks for any tips or insight.

That's a question that only you can answer,

and I believe you already have.

Sounds like a rod you can learn to baitcaster-skip with.

Should load up well with a 5" senko or such bait for dock

skipping, drop shot, and lighter bait techniques.

Otherwise, I agree with @RoLo. You say you regret buying

it, so that says a lot. Can always try to sell it on the Flea

Market.

The specs definitely is a light lure rod.  If you aren't going to go that light, I'd definitely sell it.  I'd use that for drop shot and small spinners.

The issue is shipping that you'll lose some money on the sale and then shipping- probably $30-40 insured, so unless you sell it locally, you may as well keep it and use it for a loaner, or find a use for it.

It's not something I use but could see it as a good small bait rod...  maybe a good small stickbait/crankbait rod, even a little zara spook rod.  Might be a good pond rod as well.  It may work for any scaled down technique you like.

I've posted it locally for trade/sale. I have a drop shot spinning rod and a general purpose spinning rod so I'm looking to throw something a little on this rod than just senko and soft baits.
