Anyway, I have four or five bottle all over the place. The stuff goes pretty far. I think it's pretty funny that we'll spend on rods, reels, and baits, but when it comes to a $6 bottle of line conditioner, that's here we draw the line. Especially if the stuff works great. Pretty much agree with J Franco on this. Funny how some fishing equipment has no price ceiling but other stuff does. Guess everyone has their own ceiling on different things. I have used both Real Magic and KVD L&L and like them both. Guess I prefer the KVD L&L but I have no problem using the Real Magic also 1 Quote
Bandersnatch Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 Does anybody worry about using Reelsnot on your high end baitcasters? I just want to make sure i'm not risking anything before I start spraying a liquid on my $400-$600 reels. Quote

I see that one issue that no one is talking about is how OFTEN you use it. Line conditioner works, pick your brand. My problem is that I have a tendency to forget to use it as I don't need to pull out every bit of performance for every cast. My braided line is Daiwa Samurai braid which is also in the upper echelons of $$$ and this line is super limp to begin with as I don't need abrasion resistance and I wanted to put my braid on both spinning and casting reels. I have not used it on flourocarbon (again, stupid expensive sunline shooter is limp) but if I remember this year, ill give it a try. I douse the spool with the reel snot whenever I remember to use it (before, after or during) and I have no issues on the pricier reels. Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted March 4, 2019 Super User Posted March 4, 2019 I used Reel Snot the entire 2018 season with no issues. Sprayed it on my line as I spooled it. From there I would give a spray the night before a fishing trip. I am careful to wipe off any excess liquid on my reel frame after application. It is definitely oily stuff. I can feel the difference on my line between it and KVD Line and Lure conditioner. Quote

It helps with mono, braid, and fluoro memory. It helps to make the line a bit slipperier so you can get a longer cast. I do like it a bit better than say KVD. I have not tried the coffee stuff yet. My recommendation is to use it when you first spool your line and then it helps to occasionally cast the rod and add some more as you reel in the line. let it set and then use the rod the next day. This right here. I use Reelsnot religiously. My last order they sent me the Java bottle by accident and allowed me to keep. It I don't really have an opinion for it. It doesn't seem to do anything extra to my lures. Quote
