Rod or reel??

If you were upgrading a setup andYou could buy one now and save up for the other.Which one do you buy now??You have a spare reel and rod to pair up.

I'm not sure I understand the question. I don't think it matters, as you can't fish without a rod and reel in most cases.

Upgrade the rod first, then the reel. Casting distance between high end reels and low end reels usually don't vary too much, whereas the sensitivity of a rod can vary greatly.

I would have to evaluate the quality and condition of the current combo. If the reel is in good working condition and was casting a decent distance, then I agree the rod is much more important. if I felt the rod was working fine and the reel was the weak link then I go upgrade the reel.

I believe the reel is the most important for baitcasting, and the rod most important for spinning.

Casting: a never ending cycle of buying and selling JDM reels.

Rod first, reel later (if you already have exceptable setup)

if you have two rod ex. M and MH you can fish each rod with different lure with one reel. Two reel wouldn't do you any good since you can only use one reel at time. But all this is also depend on what kind of rod and reel you have too. They both equally matter in fishing.

Haha my mom doesnt understand why I buy and sell reels all the time... Neither do I...

If you are covered on the basics, an extra real give you the ability on using different lines.  If you are a bad day guy who swaps out leader, get the rod
