Am Looking to replace two reels on my spinning set up. I have been going back and forth on those two size.

I wanted to get the 9530 Patriarch but should I be looking at 9535 ?

It will go on my Mojo Bass M/F Rod and Carbonlite 7'2 M/F Rod.

is the 9535 as the same size as 2500 ?

Im thinking of getting both and put the 9535 on Mojo and 9530 on CarbonLite but wanted to hear from you guys before pulling the trigger on it.

Thanks

I just got a 35 for a 7ft medium fast and like it as the 30 felt too small for me. Try them out in store if you can that's what helped ne make my decision.

Pflueger has some good reels, but weird sizing numbers.  Here's the way I see them.

Pflueger Reel Sizing:

the XX25 is slightly bigger than 1000
XX30 is slightly bigger than a 2000
XX35 is slightly bigger than a 2500
XX40 is similar to a 3000-3500

I have a President in the 30 size, and really like it. It's smaller and lighter than the 35, and because I throw braid on it I don't have to worry about memory with mono or fluoro. I think the 35 has a faster IPT than the 30 if retrieve speed is a concern, it may also hold a little more line although I've never used near enough line for it to be an issue with the 30 size. I mostly use mine for weightless/lightly weighted plastics, so retrieve speed isn't important to me. I have other set ups(baitcasters) for my speed baits.

Another great reason for going to a tackle store (BPS, Cabelas, mom and pop, etc) and handling the reel before you purchase. Love my Pflueger reels but ordering them online was a Goldilocks experience. Too small, too big, before just right.

Thanks guys -

Funny thing is that I was THERE yesterday to look at it but they didn't have Patriarch there. but I will look into the Supreme size on 30 and 35 to see the difference. Its only a 15 mile drive for me so I think I should be good as I'm considering going back to BPS again.  I have the shimano stradic ci4+ 2500 on my wacky rod.

Cant wait for the wife to get home - she got the car right now !

My wife and I fish quite a few Pfluegers both Presidents and Supreme. We both fish a pair of G Loomis GL3 and IMX rods for finesse baits. All four rods are 6 foot long. She prefers a 30 series reel on the SJR 721, a 1/16 to 5/16 and all the rest are 35 series.  We definitely went to the 35 Supreme for hew frogging rod, its retrieve line per turn of the handle almost matched my Daiwa Tatula 8-1 baitcaster.  Either one will work but it depends on your preference really.   Also something to compare is the drag, in the Patriarch the 35 has 14 pounds of drag compared to only 10 on the 30 sized reel.

Thanks Guys -

Just decided to get the 9530 and 9535.

The 9530 will go to 7'2 M/F Black CarbonLite Rod (Hate those white ones, UGLY Color).

That tend to be my soft-bait Jerk-bait rod.

The 9535 will go to 7 M/F Mojo Bass Rod (Grubs/Tubes).

It should arrive on the 28th ---
